Cole is going........

Gerrard missing the start of season.... No-one knows how to treat this injury, a very unusual injury.

Good to see Cole and his 110k a week go. Not surprised that Gerrard needs more time to get fit, hopefully he'll be back sooner rather than lather. Will be like a new signing.

how do you know this? glad to hear about cole, not so glad about stevie, but not really surprised

He works at the club.

Sorry for answering on your behalf El P, but I know your answer would be less mystical and glamorous.

Is cole close to something or is it just that he and the club have agreed to part ?

Yeah the gerrard one is weird , he's been banging on how he was feeling really good both physically and mentally after his layoff but he obviously isn't as good as he thinks .

Krump - that's because Gerrard played the Hodgson games and few of the Dalglish games.

Without Gerrard and Suarez we'll be starting the season without our two best players.

Yup

Bugger.... I was hoping there'd be some pictures of nipples in this thread.....

Read it in the Times I think. The figure differs from 90-110 k depending on what paper you read. Its still a LOT.

Hopefully Stevie will be back soon andthat they are just being extremely careful with him.

I don't think my armchair outrage can take much more.

*fumes at Joke Hole Hahahahahah*

I hate that phrase with passion, has any player EVER turned out to be "like a new signing" after the phrase was used describing him?

Anyway, not really arsed about Cole and the Gerrard bit was kind of expected, unfortunately

Cole's wage are about 90K and if this story is true than i'm a happy man as we wasted a lot of money on a player who is past his best. I also believe that Maxi also on high wages in the same region of 90K a week. We need to offload Maxi too.

Ok, now I'm starting to have feelings of dread.

Not like this, Stevie, not like this !

They're kind of doing this Gerrard injury by phases, probably to soften the blow of losing our greatest player in recent times.

Has anyone seen Gerrard/anyone say when he'll be fit, all ive heard is he's doubtful for this/then and everything?

I heard (not from the same as El Pistolero)Gerrard had a 'twinge' when swimming. Looking a bit ominous.
[/quote]

Thats not good at all. Hopefully he just needs more time. He said himself he thought he would be ready for the new season.
These "twinges" doesnt sound good. But if 95% of the muscle was detached from the bone, then this could take a while.

This is what Kenny said 9 days ago:

Steven is injured at the moment and that's why he's not here with us. He has made a fantastic recovery from his operation towards the end of last season.

"He just needs to get the final couple of niggles out of the way and then he will be fit for the start of the season against Sunderland.

"I know people are disappointed he isn't here with us but the disappointment would be far greater if he couldn't play the first game. That is why he has stayed at home, to rest and to have the best chance of being fit for the start of the season.

Steven Gerrard died six months ago in a freak handwashing accident. Since that time the club has been recycling old footage augmented by CGI and hired a body double to represent Steve at corporate events.

This is all to soften the blow for fans who will need to find out gradually that he's dead and are nonetheless expected to campaign for him to replace Lucas in the team, even as he starts to decompose and is just a rotting corpse lying in the centre circle.
