So yeah... Swansea

What a ball from Gerrard.

That was simply sublime. From our box, facing our goal to find a winger past the halfway line with pinpoint accuracy is genius.

He's played the kids and reserves - it was bound to happen tbh.

Suarez and SG came on at half time, so other than some of the back four, that was a 'strong team', now I appreciate that isan't saying much these days but you do have to question BR after tonight's performance.

Don't really care about the Carling Cup. We won it last season and it's hardly embarrassing going out to a good Swansea side.

What I do care about and am most concerned with is the lack of ideas in the final third and the fact we're relying on a wide-forward to score all our goals for us. It's got to a point where he and Gerrard are making poor decisions because there's little penetration around them that they feel they have to go it alone.

Some of the back four? Try the whole back four, no Sahin, no Suso, no Sterilng etc ... Considering how much of our attacking comes from Suarez, any time we roll out without him will be considerably weaker.

It doesn't help when fucking Joe Cole starts -

First time this season I'm looking at BR and thinking what the feck!

Why???

What more can he do???

He's assembled a very poor squad several lacking in key areas of the pitch and despite that he's shown to be capable of making big and brave decisions.

He was badly let down by the owners in the last transfer window and needs to be backed properly in January.

Agree. It's not the fact we are out of the shitty cup but the fact we don't ever look like scoring unless Suarez does something. God how long have we been saying that now!!

Question him about what? Have you just realised we've got one striker? Everyone else has known for about the last three months.

What brilliant side did you suggest he should have started with? It's an inexperienced back four in terms of continuity. A midfielder, an over the hill has been, Coates who I thought did ok, and Jack Robinson. It's still an inexperienced unit. As for the rest, oh well. Shit happens. We've tried to win and lost trying to win. I'd prefer that to Djimi Traore doing a pirouette into his own net while we put two banks of four behind the ball against Burnley.

Errm. He made some poor decisions, starting Cole, Shelvey playing further back. etc Now without wanting to enter a massive debate, I'm not saying BR should be sacked or anything like that. Just pointing out that some of his decisions this eve were poor.

He tried to use his squad because we're stretched. You can't seriously moan about us having to rely heavily on Suarez and then kick the guy for trying to stretch the squad to it's limits. He can't win.

Our second string has lost to Swanseas first team, and tbh I dont care.
I can live without the Capitol cup.

Dont start going on about Rodgers etc, its pointless after a game like this.
We have paper thin squad with little quality. The rebuilding isnt done in 3-4 months.
And with so many games coming up in the league and EL we needed to rest players.

A win on sunday and we're on the road again.

Lol. This forum needs a sacrificial lamb post a defeat, being a team player and because I love you guys so have stepped forward. Come on one and all, take it out on me 🙂

Me saying BR made a few poor decisions this eve shouldn't be translated as anything other than that. He got a few things wrong this evening. If Allen was meant to be holding today then that's what he should be doing, we have been way way too open in games and that's BR job to address. Appreciate we don't have the squad but if Donging can be converted to a left back then surely we can try and have one of Allen, Hendo or even Carra sitting in front of the back 4.

Lol "without wanting to enter a massive debate", well dont make pissy comments like "First time this season I'm looking at BR and thinking what the feck!" then get all defensive when people have a go at you.

Liverpool

  • 01 Jones
  • 16 Coates
  • 23 Carragher
  • 49 Robinson
  • 10 Cole (Gerrard - 46' )
  • 14 Henderson
  • 19 Downing
  • 24 Allen
  • 33 Shelvey
  • 11 Assaidi (Sterling - 65' )
  • 36 Yesil (Suarez - 46' )

true but bar Yesil and maybe robinson , all of those players want to be starting for the 1st team . Just shows you how poor the squad really is . And obviously that's not all rodger's fault , his hands were tied by a small budget but has anyone he's bought really increased the quality level at all ? Allen maybe but even he sometimes seems a bit of a "what does he actually do " footballer (yes , yes he keeps things ticking over ) .

Shut the feck up Gary.

BR made some errors this eve in my view, I pointed that out. You concluded from that comment I was arguing for his sacking, now making up stories in your head and then playing them out on a forum doesn't make you smart in anyway.
