Sir Alex Ferguson is retiring after winning everything repeatedly. He took a side languishing in its recent history and not only turned them in to winners, he renewed and refreshed repeatedly whilst maintaining that dominance. Only Abramovich's millions and Wenger for a period really challenged him.

His achievement of 13 league championships, two European Cups, five FA Cups, four League Cups and one European Cup Winners' Cup with United is absolutely fucking ridiculous. add in the titles he won with lowly Aberdeen it is truly insane.

We should be able to put rivalry to one side and acknowledge his achievements

Do a sliding scale,
slide that scale along fergies whole 20 whatever year it was timeliness,
call that scale Paisley's 9 years.
Then be absofuckinglutely astounded that NOTHING Fergie did in ALL those years can match what he did.

I loved Paisley, he was so much easier to like than Shankley, but saying Ferguson's achievement are nothing in comparison is bollocks. Paisley was awesome for his time, Ferguson in his.

I said take any 9 years of fergie,s on a sliding scale and in no 9 year period ( year 1 to year 9... 2 to year 10 and so on ) in the Whole timeline from year one to year 20 whatever, can fergie match Paisley.

Is that simpler for you?

Paisley was massively, and wonderfully, successful. Are you really trying to convince me Ferguson hasn't been? Thank fuck he 'only' won 13 titles etc etc

I'm not trying to pick a winner here.

Where did I say he hasn't been successful? I just said all along his timeliness of success there is no period that can compare to what Paisley achieved.

What's so hard to understand?

I didn't mention Paisley in my initial post, I didn't say Fergie was the best ever, I didn't say we should compare/contrast. I merely asked, that given his career achievements, shouldn't we be big enough to mutter a 'well done' under our voice. Are we big enough to accept that he's been a phenomenal force for his club?

However, if you want to have a Paisley vs Fergie argument then perhaps you need another thread. I suspect Paisley will win given that this is a Liverpool forum 🙂

Fuck Fergie.
Fuck his big massive veiny red hooter.

I hope we find out hes been bribing referees and gets sent to prison and dies in a horrible shitty one man cell crying and alone.

Fuck him, fuck them and fuck everything they ever did or ever will do.

Now whaddo I win?

I'm happy knowing that he was holding off retirement hoping to get that 3rd European Cup and the fact he didn't will haunt him for the rest of his life.

Im also happy knowing that the last man to beat him was Rafa Benitez. A man who won just one less European cup with Liverpool in one year than Fergie won in 35 years of football management and 26 years with United.

Those are facts.

But will Benitez win another one?

With regards to Ferguson I'm very mixed. I have to respect all that he's done there and he is a legendary figure of the game. It will be strange seeing a Man Utd team without him as he's been there since before I was born. But on the other hand I hope the evil spiteful cunt and his purple nose rot in hell.

Better man, my fucking arse!

From SSN:

Ferguson may be calling time on his 26-and-a-half-year reign, but he gave an indication of his enduring passion for United as he urged supporters to turn out on Tuesday for an U21 game against traditional rivals Liverpool.
He said: "We play that mob across the road. I hope some of you cheer the young lads on."

Fuck you and die Rudolph the red nosed fuck. FUCK YOU...AND DIE!

Bollocks he was. This thread is not your finest hour, mate. And it's "Shankly" by the way.

I respectfully disagree. Dee's a good lad and nobody's really laid into him. The real vitriol is being directed at Ferguson.
