What the fuck is Souness bleating on about?

He rejected Schmechael because he was a rookie and he had David James.

But more baffling that, he says he rejected the chance to sign Cantona in 1991 because he already had enough players over the age of 30.

Err. Souey. In 1991 Cantona was 25 you fucking blert!!

That's true, but it's galling to reflect on how much we've done to sustain ManUre over the years. It goes all the way back to Busby himself FFS.

He was told Cantona while a good player was volitile and a trouble maker and he had enoogh problems already which was fair enough

I thought it was Laudrup and his dad who ultimately rejected LFC (understandably enough as we p!$$ed them about), not the other way round.

Fair point overall though, and it extends even beyond the footballing Mecca which is Denmark. 😉 The succession of poor recruitment decisions - in the boardroom as well as on the field - which this club has made since the early 90s is simply unreal.

Danes we have bought:

Poulsen, Steensgaard, Piechnik

Danes we have rejected:

Eriksen, Laudrup, Schmeichel

So, in the future, could we please ask me for advise, before bringing home the bacon??

How on god's earth can you miss out from that list, one of the best midfielders to have graced our team, and a true adopted scouser to boot. I give you Jan Molby !!!

All of the above is null and void as you would have had us buy Bentnar!

Well, aren't you a glass half empty kinda fella?

Bendtner for all his fuck-ups and bad choices (on and off the pitch) has actually found his way again up in the cold, dark Norwegian North (instead of going on the booze he's now going fishing) and he's actually back with the International team as well and he even scored a very decent goal - that was wrongfully ruled out - against Romania. He later won a pen too, without playing particularly well overall mind you.

Anyways, there's a good chance he'll play some part in the Play-Off's too, perhaps against Ireland?
