Chelsea And England Ace Frank Lampard Could Be Out Until 2010 - Report
The Blues star may be out of action for a couple of months...

Chelsea's personnel problems continue to mount, as The Daily Mail claims that Frank Lampard could be out of action until the New Year.

On Thursday the midfielder became the latest of several stars to withdraw from the England squad ahead of this weekend's friendly against Brazil, after tearing a thigh muscle in training.

Initial reports indicated that the problem was only minor, but now there are fears that the Blues could be without their talismanic middle-man for up to seven weeks.

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti recently expressed concern that his key players could become burnt out before the business end of the season rolls around.

Lampard has already played 58 official games for club and country this calendar year, and his Italian boss is determined to make sure the 31-year-old is fully fit before he rejoins the fray.

The Stamford Bridge outfit are already without star wing-backs Ashley Cole and Jose Bosingwa, the latter expected to miss three months after undergoing knee surgery.

The current Premier League leaders will also lose the likes of Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Salomon Kalou and John Obi Mikel when the Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in January.

nah, I still think we could do it, crazy enough 11 points in 26 games doesn't seem like such a huge mountain. but it is only a small wedge of optimisim.

Nothing's decided yet as far I'm concerned.

Chelsea nor United haven't impressed me so far either and they'll struggle soon enough too. Arsenal hopefully will as well albeit looking the better side of the lot.

WE ARE NOT OUT YET.

Arsenal have been rocked by an injury to star striker Robin van Persie which could see him ruled out for around two months.

Van Persie was stretchered off during Holland's goalless friendly draw in Italy on Saturday night.

He damaged his ankle in a challenge with Giorgio Chiellini in the early stages of the clash.

Afterwards Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk suggested Van Persie had torn his ankle ligaments, althought the extent of the injury will not be determined until Sunday when tests will be carried out on the striker.

If confirmed, Van Persie would be facing around two months on the sidelines - something which would threaten to derail Arsenal's Premier League title challenge.

Van Persie has scored seven league goals for the Gunners this season, helping them to second place in the current standings.

They trail leaders Chelsea by five points but have a game in hand on their London rivals.

Could also derail them slightly - and KHL - your optimism has negative results, can't you do a 'switch' just to test the results?
