according to his agent. Will have to play with a mask when he returns.

We're fucked if Agger cant get his back fixed..

Already mention that in the Stoke thread. I wonder if he's going to look even scarier with a mask.

Nah...he can only get "prettier" with a mask.

You could tell he was fucked during the game; I'm amazed he could continue to be honest and fair play for trying.

Two weeks isn't so bad but I desperately wished Sami was still on our books, because we're going to miss him just as much as we miss Alonso over the next few weeks, and who knows, maybe even longer

Oh ohh.

We're royally bolloxed now. Carra's looked a bit wobbley and now he's in there on his own. Or bossing a group of kids - at best.

Carragher would be a much greater blow

Even Skrtel looks lost without him by his side.

At least whichever kid coming in and can be under Jamie's instructions.

this is a disaster we're definitely going to conceed goals against stoke and Villa now

Not necessarily. The young lads we have in the squad are still professional players. Its not like we'll be fielding random people off the street.

Young players thrown in at the deep end can often do just fine and I would rather it was against Stoke, who with a bit of luck will be quite defensive themselves, because it could be a lot lot worse.

Richey, this is just Rebel and his typical scaremongering.

We can still do Stoke, we just have to bury them from the off. Villa might be a tough game though. If anything this might add to the pressure on the owners.

This has been a cracking start to the season.

what makes it worse is that he did not get it making an amazing defensive clearance or anything, our own player twatted him.

Things can only get better folks

I'd rather see Kelly get a game ahead of Ayala, he seems to have a bit more about him.

Rafa seems to prefer Ayala though..

I guess the start of the season just goes to show the unpredictability of football and how you can never take anything for granted, particularly with a poor squad.

It is a bit ridiculous the amount of players we have on the books, when two thirds of them seem to have practically no faith forthcoming from the manager who bought them.

Yep, Kelly impressed me in pre-season and I hope he plays, Ayala came on soon after Spurs put Crouch on so he was probably picked because of his height.

Oh fuck. Nice one, Carra.

Well, we'd better hope against hope that young Ayala lives up to his great namesake.

Is Roberto Ayala sill at Zaragoza?

*Wonders could he still do at job for us*

We don't have a great record with 36-year-old Argentine centre backs who used to play for Valencia though.

Plus he's a midget.

If we can beat Arsenal with Plessis at CM, we can beat Stoke with Ayala or Kelly in defence.

Those throw ins bother me though. Come back Sami

Didn't we draw that game when Plessis played against Arsenal?

If so, good point but bad example!

We'll just have to keep the ball in their half then... surely he can't throw them that far? 🙂

Rafa Benitez will make a late decision on the fitness of centre-back Martin Skrtel ahead of Stoke City's visit to Anfield on Wednesday.
The Slovakia international was substituted in the second half of our 2-1 defeat to Tottenham after an earlier clash of heads with Jamie Carragher.

Benitez told reporters at his pre-match press conference: "We have to wait. Daniel Agger will be out for at least two or three more weeks. Skrtel was training this morning and we will decide tomorrow. Carra is okay."
