Tour De France
Olympic road race.

2012 has been simply stunning for Wiggins.
I honestly thought 4th a couple of years ago in the tour was his kind of standard.
Now hes a 7 time Olympic medal winner and the first ever Briton to win Yellow, alongside several other events that a
themselves would represent a career highlight.

Astonishing and if he was from anywhere else in the world we English would be coo'ing about him.
Lets be proud for once. We have a true legend of sport.

Big Wig is immense. I don't follow the sport but it's blatantly apparent to all

but he's a liverpool fan isn't he? that's bound to go against him when considered for knighthood.

Just noticed today he has that prodigy "music for the jilted generation " tattoo on his arm/shoulder

Going to be the third cyclist in 5 years to lift the Sports Personality of the Year trophy. Great time for cycling.

Nailed-on cert for Sports personality. Be fantastic to award it to someone who actually possesses one for a change.

Anyone who stands in front of millions of viewers after winning the tour de France and says "and now I'll draw the raffle" gets my vote for spoty.

I've been riding for about 20 years, in one form or another and followed the TDF for nearly as long. For an English man in a British team to win in such a way, it's amazing. What with all the indoor success for the riders and now the road stuff, they all deserve to be recognised.

Fantastic result for Bradley and the team. Loving the mod nod on the helmet

Second best Bradley ever in my book.

I like how we've all conveniently forgotten his dad's an Aussie. 😉

But it's a truly stunning achievement. Except for the sideburns.

Froome is from Kenya and half our cricket, rugby and a fair few athletes (Farah & Deng) are British by citizenship, so who cares. There ours now, we've put a flag on them

And his dad's dad's dad's dad was a cockney tea leaf.

In fact, we've won all the ashes series ever.
