Christian Pulisic has emerged in the press again. The kid looks good and if he turns into a world-class players the Yanks are going to crazy buying LFC merchandise (if the club signs him).
£25m may seem like a bargain.

I was lurking on red cafe earlier... Love Monday mornings there these days... and people were debating the merits of giving Ibra a contract extension already. The pro cunt argument seemed to be that he was high profile, thus drew a crowd, thus should be persevered with as ultimately he was making money. Oh how I laughed, to myself.

This topic isn't making me laugh. It's making me want to put your fucking teeth on the fucking curb.

There was an article recently, in one of the daily papers I believe, that proved conclusively that no transfer (not even Messi or Ronaldo) would make 'commercial sense' from the point of view of recouping the transfer fee from shirt sales / commercial outlets.

The manufacturers take the bulk of any profit, that being the whole reason for paying so much up front for the commercial rights to shirt advertising. Clubs are just happy to get the cash up front, annually of course.

United are going to hurt next season because I believe they lose 50% of their annual fee if out of the CL for two consecutive seasons.

Commercial sense is the only thing preventing us play a friendly, then at halftime complete the signing of one of their players and said player consequently running out to the pitch for the 2nd half in our colours. Just imagine, if commercial sense didn't exist, this could happen sooner.

We should sign a few east Asian players. Weren't Chelsea signing a Chinese super defender? What happened?

Winning stuff makes commercial sense, so maybe it would make commercial sense to buy the best players avaliable.

There's an argument that its playing good football thats more important.

The money is in making a team that people want to see. Granted success is part of it but we won nothing when we finished 2nd under Rodgers but we cleaned up because everyone wanted to watch us.

He's also known to be a Manc. That doesn't necessarily mean we shouldn't sign him, but it would just make me wonder how committed he would really be.

That doesnt matter to much in my opinion. He has a great relationship with Klopp and is fantastic talent. 🙂

We're easily the most entertaining side in the UK to watch currently.

Arguably the most entertaining to watch in the world.

Making that side ruthless & giving us a clinical edge should be enough to make us incredibly commercially successful as well as successful on the pitch too.

I'm averse to buying anyone who isn't good enough, regardless of how many fans it may bring us. In the same way I'm not averse to buying anyone from anywhere, be it Paraguay or Newfoundland, if they're good enough. With the possible exception of Italians.

Shame we didnt sign Solskjær. After he signed for the Mancs, the Norwegian Liverpool supporters club sent him a copy of his membership card and asked if he was going to renew it. He was a massive Liverpool fan aswell

It would be better if he was called Hank GoodBoy III, and not that foreign name.

Newfoundlanders travel well. I think a Newfie footballer would adapt well to the Premier League.

I really meant player names but I suppose it would be good for teams.

Like the Packers have a safety called Ha-Ha Clintin Dix. There's not a name in the Premiership that comes close to that

You'd think by your reaction that somehow the club upon my advice will sign players based solely on commercial appeal. Pulisic is good from the very little I've seen, he is 18 and available for around £25m according to the press. If he turns out to be sensation LFC will have more money

He might not even be top 10 in his draft, for example:

Willie Beavers
Dadi Nicholas
Daniel Braverman
Prince Charles Iworah
Deforest Buckner
Reggie Ragland
Jihad Ward
Bronson Kaufusi

Some of them are fantastic.
It's getting better with every draft too.
Symbols will be next.
