Shut Up!

I'd also prefer us not to set ourselves up in this way, but I'll tell you what - it's better than the apologetic garbage Roy's been coming out with.

dirk is like your overly optimistic friend who brazenly puts the mockers on every single game by predicting a heavy win.

Applause. No surrender!

There is nothing wrong with a player showing his confidence and speaking his mind. Dirk, Lucas or anyone else, its great because they then have to go back it up on the field.

I think we should not big up ourselves before any match. Let the game speak loudly after we win. That is the best way to do it. Action speaks louder than words....

Ordinarily I'd agree with you, Mike...but we've been so defeatist lately a bit of positive talk might be beneficial

Such talk invariably leads to a damp squib of a result in the proceeding match. It's The Liverpool Way.

The only thing worth noting about the Liverpool Way is how Liverpool has lost its way.

As a club and institution we need to return to the values and principles that made us a "Bastion of Invincibility!"

Avvy, being gungho, positive is ok provided we are really on a roll but we are still on tenterhooks and any team can beat us, any time. So I prefer a little bit of perspective for now. Wait til we whack MU, Arsenal, Citeh, Spurs... then we can shout!

Sheiky has been schooled in the LTW.

i like that kind of talk, it's inspirational. anyway, does anyone seriously believe it has any negative effect on the team at all? if we lose a game, imo it'll be in spite of it, not because of it - so what's the problem? you're proved wrong? oh heaven fucking forbid.

I couldn't really give a fuck either way.

If Dirk is proved wrong, yeah, mud in our face big time.

who fucking cares? the only thing that matters is finishing top 4 or not, not whether anyone's proved wrong.

This always happens though; we get one or two good results and someone starts talking about how we're going to win this or do well in that or some other shit.

And we always come undone; the only reason why it'snot so bad in this instance is because we've been so low on confidence and there's been so much defeatist vibes hovering over Anfield.

A bit of optimism isnt so bad.

Yup. Posted along similar lines in the other thread.

If proven wrong, confidence take another beating. May take another few games to climb out of the whole.

If it does gee the team up, which I doubt it will, good.

The best is to go about doing things quietly, efficiently and let the win (hopefully) speak for it self.

Gloating quietly will put the goats at the opposing fans. The best thing is that they cannot say anything about it.

Ahh they can't win, of course we should just 'do it', but all we've heard of late is people being knocked for being too negative in their comments or talking about how they 'might go if we don't pull our fingers out". It's refreshing to hear someone being so fucking positive, especially after the way the first several games went.
