Hmmmm.... hmmmm! I don't know.

There is no doubt Shelvey is a more positive attacking player than Lucas.

After the talk of his dazzling England performance though I just expected a bit more.

Heh.... I just think he oozed confidence and he looks like he has that bit of class and swagger on the ball. I'm really made up for him and I want him to do well, I don't think I've been this excited about young players in a long long time. Him and Sterling and to a slightly lesser extent, Suso and Wisdom, have been a big plus so far.

Shelvey isn't scared to try and make things happen, thats a very good attribute, one we need in our side when we're struggling to break teams down.

We could have £60M's worth of talent in Suso, Sterling and Jonjo. I hope they continue to progress in the first team, and I hope we keep signing young players of their calibre. This trio have me ambivalent about the signings of Carroll, Henderson and Downing, which has taken some doing. Well done to them all, and even more credit needs to go to the club. This trio of players should embody how this club will compete in the future.

Shelvey has a great future ahead of him but he needs to stay grounded and continue working on all aspects of his game. He is rapidly improving and its hard to ignore especially when you look at Henderson who is virtually invisible these days.

You're right, I'm being silly but I just think it is atrocious that Shelvey isn't getting game time. The kid is ready and even if he has some growing pains in our first team he can already delivers a better corner and free kick than our Captain (this could result in 5 more goals this year). He has great vision, passing ability, comfortable with the ball and most important he will help us control possession and keep us ticking. He's our 3rd best cm no doubt about it.

Stevie would have to play on the right to be effective, hence Sterling on the left and, while he's done well over there, I wouldn't want him tied down to one wing even during a game, let alone permanently. If he DID have to stay on one wing I'd prefer it to be the right anyway, as Sterling's right-footed.

Okay Zlate. Just know, this means no unnecessary and untrue bashing of Shelvey. A required level of support is necessary to be in this club. You can point out mistakes and shortcomings. However, you do have to believe this kid has a great future.

I have my own Shelvey Fan club, but you can't join it. That's how exclusive it is. It's VERY exclusive. Shelvey himself tried to join it a while back. Nonchalantly, I pretended not to know who he was. He returned the following day, crestfallen, with what appeared to be a badger on his head. I diverted him to Brian May's website with a flea in his ear. He won't get in. No one will get in. But I run the Shelvey Fan Club.
