Why is Sahin not taking corners and free-kicks anymore? Year after year, Gerrard takes over these responsibilities from players who are better than him in this department. And so far none of the 4 managers did anything about it.
 
Gerrard will hopefully understand when he turns 34 that we can score more goals with him in the box on corner kicks ...
 
I remember Sahin's first corner for us and thinking " thats much better, I can see us getting goals from his corners", and then I never saw him take one since
 
Wisdom scored from Sahin's corner in Europa league. His free-kicks have also been superb. Now Gerrard takes everything again. WTF?
 
I agree, Sahin shoud be taking them. And alternating between him and Suarez for free kicks. Gerrards shooting, and free kick boots are long gone. When he gets one on target now, it's the exception not the rule. Anytime he shoots, as soon as the ball leaves his foot, I'm thinking it's Riise all over again. 1 wonder goal per 100 shots.
For some weird reason though, his passing has been immense in the last few games, but his shooting and dead ball, utter bollocks. So it's not like he can't hit a ball.
