Liverpool chief scout Eduardo Macia has left the club by mutual consent, according to the Daily Mail. Spaniard Macia had remained at Anfield despite the departure of Rafa Benitez but with the appointment of Damien Comolli as Director of Football Strategy, Macia was deemed surplus to requirements. Comolli is now seen as in charge of player recruitment, according to the Daily Mail, and will aim to buy at least four players in the January transfer window reports the paper. Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux was seen in the Director’s box at Anfield during Liverpool’s defeat to Wolves and is widely expected to be the Reds’ first signing in January.
