Scores When We Concede

We would appear to rarely concede when games are close, but subsequently invite pressure on ourselves when we are relatively comfortable, perhaps we get a little complacent.

Arsenal (A) 4 v 1 we conceded 2
Burnley (A) enough said
Spurs (A) 1 v 0
Leicester (H) 2 v 0
Chelsea (A) 2 v 0
Hull (H) 3 v 0
Swansea (A) 0 v 0
West Brom (H) 2 v 0
Palace (A) 1 v 0 & 2 v 1
Watford (H) 5 v 0

We have only gone behind in 3 games and went on to win 2 of them.
In 2 games we have conceded within 2 minutes of scoring.

It appears when we really need to defend and hold on to what we have we seem to be able to.
Of the 14 goals we have conceded 6 ended up being merely a consolation for the opposition as the final result was not affected.

Arsenal 2
Leicester 1
Hull 1
West Brom 1
Watford 1

I can only think of 3 goals that prevented us winning (2 for Burnley, 1 for Spurs), so what were the other 5 if not "consolations"?

This is what I was getting at in the other thread, I feel like we're controlling games a lot better than we have in the past, we still concede too many goals, and I'm still nervous when we're holding on to a lead, but we're definitely in better shape than we were in 2014.

I think the problem is that our game is so high intensity there is a natural drop off when we're cruising.

Unfortunately, as we all know, we're not particularly great at 'managing' the game in these periods and we can invite the other team back into it.

The drop off seems far less stark than it did in 13/14 though. We played a similar high intensity then but it was much more patchy, this squad seems to have far more fitness and as that improves further; perhaps maintaining the intensity over the majority of the game, will be where the game management is achieved.
