He limped off during the game, even if it's not serious I would think he needs a rest. I would play Milner on the right for Burnley. The others now have to step-up.

Play Mane/Ox on the right, Coutinho left, Bobby through middle, as we did last year.

Lallana and Wini to return to midfield for energy and legs.

Trent, Ming and Ragnar to come back too.

The rest of the side made up of whoever has energy left.

I actually think he does play a little like Messi. The way he moves in the tight spaces with the ball - the quick feet and his shooting. Also his short frame kind of like gives you the impression that he is going to be a soft touch up against big defenders - but what you see is a very strong guy able to hold up the ball. I get what Wright was trying to say.

I've thought all season he's Messi-lite. He's averaging a goal a game, Messi style, so you can't even really say his finishing let's him down in the comparison. Comparing him to the greatest player of his generation, possibly ever, is always going to get some sneers.

Whisper it quietly but he would be a good backup and eventual replacement for Messi, since he's 5 years younger.

If he is rested Id rather see Coutinho push further forward and let Ox or Lallana fill the space in midfield. There were signs of life from Mane today so hopefully hes coming back into form now

I'm a bit bemused he hasn't had more of a rest. He's so important.
We've been so reliant on him that's why. When he doesn't play and with mane out of form we don't look anywhere near as potent.

After the Burnley game he will get 2 weeks rest. I don't see klopp playing him against Everton.

Why on earth would you play Milner on the RW ?! Lallana or Ox would both be more than fine. Or switch Mane to RW and Coutinho to LW with Ox/Lallana as AM (both better tacklers and harder working, which will definitely be needed vs. Burnley).

Ian Wright has just compared Salah to Messi on motd. Linekar and Shearer just looked at him like ‘wtf have you just said’
He didn't compare him to Messi exactly, he said he plays a little like Messi (he's not wrong) and he also said he's not on his level (no one is and of course not even close). Lineker was just being a dick.

Indeed. Nothing wrong with saying he plays with a Messi vibe - because he does. He's not in Messi's League obviously but much of the same qualities.

Lineker would surely agree if he was a Spurs player...

I thought it was all in good fun, the way Lineker and Shearer stared him down. They knew what he was saying, but this reaction just made it funny and memorable - in other words, good TV.

Does he do the injury, or just notice it, when he goes for the knee slide after the second goal? Watch it back, and you'll see the wince....

I thought exactly the same with that slide ... definitely looked like it.

Yes, but there needs to be prudence alongside an appreciation of his worth. Anyone who saw Owen go down at Elland Road like he'd been shot surely always has an anxiety about seeing players who really use their pace being over-played. It's a long season, and we need him to stay fit.

Have him ready to go from the bench. We can push Coutinho up to the front three and have one of Lallana or Ox in the middle 3. The opening poster's idea of playing Milner in the front three is fucking hilarious!

He played RM couple of seasons ago and was top for assists. Despite his age he gives 100% and knows how to cross a ball

I think that's sugar-coating it a bit too much. That snarky bluenose tit Lineker (who gets digs in at us at every opportunity he can create) was out to embarrass him over it and Shearer tagged along for the ride.
