According to his team mate...

Macheda is quoted as saying: "Rooney is a really great person, he always gives me advice, but he's a bit working class and vulgar."

lol....he is clearly going to have to follow that up with a..."that was a miscommunication/understanding" balliks..

It's obviously banter that's been translated to look worse than it is.

pretty much. according to gabi marcotti it's been very badly translated, he basically said that rooney is 'a bit coatto, like me', 'coatto' basically being an unsophisticated, inner-city, working class type.

still, it's impossible to feel sorry for macheda for obvious reasons, plus the fact he looks like a complete twat.

Yes, I hope Rooney believes the worst about this and twats Macheda.

That is if he is able to read, I guess?

Sorry but I don't see much difference between that and what was originally reported.

I'd be inclined to beleive Macheda's version of events, I don't think he said it maliciously because Macheda's from a similar - if not worse - background

well, the first, obvious, difference was that he said 'like me', which is very different to the snooty, superior, tone the quotes originally had - surely you see that?

secondly, according to marcotti, the term isn't really especially negative: definitely working class, and a bit 'loud' perhaps, but nothing offensively boorish - 'rough and ready', maybe.

I'd assume it's more like saying 'he's a council estate lad, like me' than anything offensive.
[/quote]

yep - in a nutshell!
