pretty much. according to gabi marcotti it's been very badly translated, he basically said that rooney is 'a bit coatto, like me', 'coatto' basically being an unsophisticated, inner-city, working class type.

well, the first, obvious, difference was that he said 'like me', which is very different to the snooty, superior, tone the quotes originally had - surely you see that?
secondly, according to marcotti, the term isn't really especially negative: definitely working class, and a bit 'loud' perhaps, but nothing offensively boorish - 'rough and ready', maybe.
