Although I posted this elsewhere I thought this worthy of it's own thread :-
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says his team will still be challenging for the title at the end of the season following Sunday’s 5-3 win over Stoke City.
The victory was the Reds’ first Premier League win at the Britannia Stadium and lifts them back into fourth place in the table, just five points behind leaders Manchester City.
Speaking after the match Rodgers suggested Liverpool’s fixture list for the rest of the campaign makes the strong candidates to fight for the title.
"When asked if anything was possible this season, Rodgers told reporters: "Yes, absolutely. We entered into the game today, 18 games to go, nine at home, nine away, knowing seven of those nine away were against teams in the bottom half.
“That doesn't mean they are gimmes by any means – it is a very tough league – but certainly we have shown enough that we are going to be challenging and that is all we ever wanted to be.
“We never stated we are going to win the league, to jump from where we have been at, we just needed to be in the conversation."
_________
So a quick check on what those remaining Away Games are :
WBA, Fulham, Southampton, United, Cardiff, West Ham, Norwich, Palace. Although there are teams there that will be scrapping for their PL lives I prefer that than trips to teams in the Top 8 !
I believe we can beat anyone at home (and mostly will) so the picture is looking rosier and rosier. Oncy's Army on the march perhaps.
