I think he is a bad nightmare - I really hope the owners do something come the end of the season. The only thing that is making this team work (as much as it is working) - is Suarez. There is no genius tactics at work at LFC, there is no ultimate progress in the teams performances looking accross the games they have played so far other than a significant collapse of our defence in quite a few games, and as for the sidways passing all I can see is that our players get tired very quickly in the second half passing the shitty ball sideways. We had problems last season - but they were really to do with missing quite a few chances in front of goal and genuinely being unlucky with Suarez out for 8 games but we got to 2 cup finals. This season - I really don't know what to make of it. Sorry for being so depressing but - you know what ? - I would rather have a Houllier/Rafa type defensive setup than all this 'I wanna be Spain' bullshit passing.

I agree with you - I have not seen that level being displayed against any other team this season, and even so - we drew that game despite our efforts. So in actual fact it makes no difference playing like that and getting a draw. Also the creative forward movement is just not there when the opposition decide to press on us - all that genius tiki taka shit goes out of the window and our team ends up passing backwards and sideways because no one can think straight and just wants rid of the ball.
We're a work in progress.
Yeah we tried that, last season. There was a lot of passing, not a lot of movement.

I'm honestly not trying to sound negative for the sake of it, but I've been alarmed at how the progress part seems to have faded in recent performances. We don't play out from the back with any great intelligence, the movement in midfield has declined and we rely on the inspired talent of Suarez and Raheem up front rather than any great discernible pattern of play. I did want Rodgers to allow a degree of pragmatism in matches, but I didn't want his style to slip away. I don't really see either progress or regression, on his terms, when we play now - it just seems a strangely impersonal, fairly incoherent, variation on the 'usual' style. As we're stuck with Rodgers I want to see a clearer pattern emerge, rather than disintegrate. Obviously once Lucas returns and signings are made this may happen.
