Rodgers out !!!

That comment was praising Rodgers for the sake of praising him. Right up there with giving him credit for turning up to work on time and dressing appropriately for the office.

Was it fuck. Jones has performed well enough to the point of having some question whether it was fair that he was dropped. Insig used the keepers' form to put another negative slant on Rodgers, like he's culpable for Pepe failing to get down low for shots, as he' s failed to do for two seasons.

Well done for joining the club of selective reasoning - anything that's gone wrong is the managers fault, anything that's gone well has been par the course, or luck. Pathetic.

I can't remember the last time we were dominating teams like we are now, so I'm not sure if we're worse than ever before. Granted, Allen, Borini, Assaidi and Şahin are doing fuck all at the moment, but all of Kenny's signings did fuck all for a whole season, so if one or two of the above have a couple of good games they'll be infront of the curve.
I honestly think we're not far short of being very very good, if we could just convert some of our chances. A goal scorer or two in Jan and I think we'll be laughing the 2nd half of the season.

Which teams have we dominated? In my opinion thew best games came in the start of the season (City, United), but instead of progress I see decline. I also see absolutely no plan or continuity in his decisions.... Players he wanted out is suddenly starters and players he brought in cant get a sniff....

For gods sake. Let him take all credit for all that have gone well. Suarez great form that actually keep us clear of relegation zone is the one thing that have gone well so far.

The keeper form is probably harsh to blame on him. But when you include the keepers poor form into the mix, the pic is clearer. Why aint the keepers performing? Why aint the defenders performing? Why aint the midfielders performing? IS it nothing to do with Rodgers at all? He is 100% free of blame for us being inconsistent and poor?

players he brought in can't get a sniff? Like who?

Borini - injured
Sahin - injured
Allen - regular
Assaidi - underused

yeah, I see where you're coming from.

Sahin havent had a sniff for ages...So what is the point of bringing in a passing player to a team that is supposed to pass the ball around, and then rather use others?

Cole, Downing, Enrique, Reina, Jones, Agger, Sterling, Şahin and Johnson. Not counting players elsewhere. And it's still only December.

I dont remember anything negative being said about a majority of them.

Holding onto possession doesn't equal dominating in my book

Possession, shots, being camped outside their box, corners. That's dominating for me. And against most teams this season, that's how it's been.

And? When those three have played, have we performed remarkably better?

Nope. We have not performed well at all. That is the big issue. This was however a reply to another, who said Sahin was playing before he smashed his face, which is incorrect.

But looking at the swquad we have, and the so called system. Thos three players should be able to fit the bill better than many of the ones ahead of them in the que? So why are we not trying to fit them in and give them some time toghether? I can only assume that is why they are here in the first place?

The majority of goalies have had very quit days at the office when they play Liverpool this season.

You wouldn't have. it was off the record. The coward's preferred method. But the info ended up in the papers. As it continues to do so.
But even in the media, I don't remember hearing anything. What kind of stuff?

If you don't mind me asking obviously

I know mate, that's because the majority of our shots go straight at the keeper, with little power. We're not often testing them with hard shots into the bottom corner. A goalscorer or two would hopefully change that. Look at our 'saviour' sterling's bollocks shots, or the 40yard floaters from agger, or the 'captain' whacking most of his shots into row 25.

He'd sit down one on one and not only slag players off but suggest what details could be written about them to damn them with an air of real authority. Maybe some fans would agree with the details but I hope many more would be appalled at such a tactic. And to their credit quite a few hacks were so taken aback they ignored it. But if you read between the lines these days you'll spot the ones who now have his card marked.

Hmm bizarre.

Not ideal for a manager under some pressure

Not sure how I feel about it all tbh.

Suppose I wouldn't care if we were 4th.

Garbage. Jones played average at best, and some people wanted him to replace Reina because Reina was (and still is) playing shit.

Just pointing out that you're praising him for absolutely everything he does no matter how minor. If anyone is guilty of selective reasoning its you.

This is very reminiscent of your your previous threads complementing Budgies transfer policy.

I've read some negative comments about Enrique, Cole and Downing. Enriques form improved after it. The others I've read nothing about. So, who knows if it happened or not.

Ineffective Possession, shots, possession turned over, opponents break while we're still being camped outside their box, ball ends up in corners of our goal.

Fixed. Right from the WBA opener, our defence has been struggling with quick counter attacks. I've seen no evidence that we're learning to stem this pattern.

Reina was (and still is) playing shit.

This is an unhelpful exaggeration. Reina is still a top class keeper. The difference is that this season he has made a few mistakes, and we are not used to him making any mistakes.

That doesn't amount to "playing shit." Jones has done brilliantly in stepping up to the plate when we needed him, but Reina is still very much the first-choice keeper.

Well then why did he do that press release about having a new start and going on a diet. He knows he has been sub par.

Those aren't the words of someone who has been happy with his form

I agree with what you're saying, but I think we're or 2 players (goal scorers) short of that all being turned round. If we had someone that could help put the ball away, we'd already be out of sight before we got turned over by these teams having 1 shot and one goal against us.

He's obviously got very high standards and doesn't want to make any more mistakes. It doesn't contradict what I said. 🙂
ha.

"Shit" might be harsh, but he hasn't been good and I'm delighted he realises it. But questions have to be asked as to why our coaches let him get away with it.
