Yep, it's definitely part of the solution.

But I fear a lot of people are under the illusion that if we were to buy Sturridge in January, all our problems would be solved.

It may not be the complete answer , but it might go a fucking long way to help, oh, and it's not one, it's two we need, and have done for three and a half seasons.
To stand any chance of progressing you need at least three good strikers, at the moment we have not really got any, assuming we don't look at Suarez as a striker per se.
If we have extra players up front it stops us playing every Tom Dick and Harry out of position as pretend forwards, it saves having four central midfielders in the team.

Yep. I already agreed with this point in reply to Fabs. I was just saying that a new striker (even two) won't solve the problem. While I think we have a decent enough midfield and defence, we are too inconsistent. This needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency. There are many options that can sort this out, although it's for another thread.

We are not very good at the moment but that can't come as a surprise to anyone. We knew it would be two steps forward and one step back.
