Though I don't think he was that great yesterday - despite that lovely line from Mourinho - but I keep on watching one of the best LBs in the world and I am asking myself, "how the fuck did we get so lucky to pluck him from a relegated club for 8 million & KStew?"

What a fucking gem of a signing ...

Redcafe are practically banging one out over robbo. Gutted that they didn't go for him when they had the chance.

We were the only ones after him and that's what's pissing them off. They feel manure should have gone for him. Feel he could have been their new dennis irwin.
Really? I thought we were the only ones who went after him.

Did anyone see this player getting to this level when he was at Hull (bar @Dreambeliever)?

I keep expecting him to keel over at some point, its inhuman the amount of running he and Milner do

We basically signed him for 0,5 mill didnt we? They took K-Stew for 8 mill the other way.

He couldn't cross a ball to save his life yesterday but was otherwise good , ran past his man time and time again; his acceleration is mad and best of all given his ability breaking forward is how defensively sound he is

Yes, he was never the 'meh' player some thought. What he needed was proper, intensive coaching, and that's what he got. He was quite poor on one-on-ones at Hull, and I think that, along with general tactical guidance, was what he worked on during his first couple of months at the club. The great thing is there's more to come from him - more goals certainly, a bit more involvement in certain games and a bit more variety in terms of his crossing and through balls, but what a buy he's been. Aside from greater quality, this side has more personalities, more leaders, than any side since we last one it, I think.

Rated him for a fair while before we signed him and was chuffed to bits when we did, the brill little Jocko Duracell bunny.

I thought it was 8 million & K-Stew ... If you & Hansern are right - will go down as one of our greatest signings ever.

Was definitely for 8m. Stewart was a separate transaction bringing in about the same. We got Robbo for net of less than a mill. Among the best business we've ever done.

He's quickly become my favourite player. He just does the thing time and time again. His ability to put to the ball into dangerous areas is unmatched in the league which adds a lethal weapon to our armoury of attacking football. Combine that with decent defensive positioning, real pace and just insane energy levels and you've got a fullback who is surely amongst the best playing the game right now.

I thought he was right up there at near man of the match level yesterday. They couldn't get near him.

Robbo signed a new contract didn't he?

I could see our defenders attracting a lot of attention from other teams in the coming few years. We're used to our best creative players being tapped up by the likes of Barca, but the way our defence is playing we'll need to make sure our backline have fat contracts that are topped-up regularly.

I think the worry for me is, if either Becker or Roberston get injured we don't have decent back-up. My choice is Kieran Tierney and Tom Heaton

Pick Stewart up on a free, sell him to Hull for 8m, buy Robbo for 8+m, now he is worth 80m.

Proper football manager stuff.

Clyne can cover LB as well as RB pretty well, tho' we will need a better LB alternative if he does go in January or whenever. I doubt Tierney would agree to move to be back-up.

Would have been great if we manage to buy Chilwell back then, that would be our LB sorted for the next 10 years.

I wish he could not hit the first man with every cross.

His crossing is normally very good, but was poor on Sunday, both from set pieces and open play. Maybe he spent so much energy running that his technique deserted him for once. I do worry about a back-up, we need someone with a similar playing style – yes, Clyne can cover at LB, but he won't be able to fly up and down the wing like Robbo and our whole attacking style would be affected.

He doesn’t normally take corners but you would have hoped for better. Of failing that one of our players stationing themselves ahead of the near post to compete for that ball

How about letting Shaq take the corners.
