I guess the positive from today just highlights that we have some way to go to seriously challenging, and demonstrated that NESV need to invest (which we know they will).

Hopefully a new striker will arrive in the summer.

What?

One poor performance doesn't mean "we have some way to go to be seriously challenging". Extend our form under Kenny over the season as a whole and we'd be comfortably within the CL places. We're not the finished article yet and we do need investment, but let's not go overboard after one disappointing result.

One game means fuck all we will be great a few new players anyway at the moment I'm at radio 1 big weekend in Carlisle it's fucking ace 8)

Losing to Spurs may even be a blessing in disguise. Maybe we were getting a bit carried away and believing our own hype.
We still have to work for results, and we still need investment in the summer.

Not getting the Euro League bothers me fuck all tbh.

Today you could see where we lack quality, and when several of our "key" players aren't on top of their game - we'll struggle.

Yeah i agree with you.

We've been playing above ourselves for a while now, but todays result just proves (for me anyway) that we really need to replace a number of our current first team regulars.

A lot of credit has to go to the likes of Spearing, Maxi and Lucas, but i hope to fu*k they are not in the side come the start of next season.

Its disappointing to lose to Spurs at home after all the euphoria of Kenny's permanent appointment.

Europa League is a competition we could have used to blood our fringe players and a few youngsters. It still represents silverware and we look to have missed out.

Having said that, Thursday night football just isn't kosher.

i think you're thinking of friday night football.

Some stupid comments on the forum re. some current players who are most certainly going to be in the team / squad next season - and deserve to be. And yes we do need another striker - hopefully to replace N'Gog.

We weren't that bad today. We easily won the possession battle and had more shots at goal however pathetic refereeing and a lack of penetration (give credit to Spurs' defence as well though - Dawson in particular was superb) meant we lost to an inferior team. Shit happens.

As far as Europe goes .... meh .... if we get it OK if we don't then it'll strengthen our chances in the PL. The only worry is that it may affect our transfer plans in that some players may no longer be keen to move here.

I dont think it will effect anything. Not being in the CL might, but the Euro league wont.

Ditto. We clearly need wingers.

Peter, I'm talking about Europa League Thursday night football.

Bundesliga is shon on Friday nights here and its ace. Dortmund were a joy to watch this season.
