Skrtel look quite nervous at times, but nothing proved costly.
He wasn't at his best, but it was still a performance worthy of more than a 6, IMO.

Fair enough, I do think he did his job I just felt some of his decision making on another day could have proved costly.

Maybe, but there would be no better players to take advantage of a mistake than Drogba and Anelka. It's also why I'm glad Carragher ran the show from CB. I thought he was excellent, and marshalled everyone very well.

Carra - 9 - I've been (mentally) critical of Carra recently however this was as good a performance as I've seen from him in a year or more. Getting his body in front of Drogba 2 yds out was superb.
Skrtel - 7 - helped keep a clean sheet but wasn't totally convincing.
Konch - 7 - I thought he did a good job up against Kalou / Anelka and later Bosingwa, all of whom can beat him for pace but his positioning kept them at bay for the most part.
Kelly - 8.5 - Did a fantastic job up against the most prolific attack in the league. I don't understand some of the 7's for him. He withstood the brunt of the attack (Cole, Malouda, Anelka, Drogba) after having been targeted as our weak link. Superb.
Lucas - 9 - simply the best performance I've yet seen from him. If this is how he is going to mature then I'm keeping my fingers crossed there is more of the same to come.
Gerrard - 9 - absolutely wonderful performance from our captain. Bossed the midfield and kept us ticking over, at pace. In the second half put in a less spectacular but equally valuable defensive shift.
Meireles - 8 - His touch and vision is absolute class. Although not his strongest position he made a valuable contribution and was rewarded with a superb assist for his pass to Torres for the 2nd when coming inside to take advantage of Cole. I'm really warming to this guy.
Kuyt - 9 - What a contribution, from his first to last minute on the pitch he gave his all and more. Magical assist too.
Torres - 9.5 - Terrorised Cech, Alex, Terry & co. Two superbly taken goals and a superb contribution running his socks off. You could hardly ask for more from a striker.

Hodgson - 10. The right team, the right tactics, the right subs, the right result. 2-0 against a team who had not conceded 2 goals in a game since last April and who (without checking) have probably not failed to score in less than a handful of games in that time either.
