OK if I start a Ratings thread Stu ? *he asks innocently*
Reina - 7 - saved our asses again on more than one occasion with brilliant anticipation or decision making.
Insua - 6 - no harm no foul. Seems to me he was under orders to cover Agger when he went on one of his forays.
Agger - 7.5 - calm as cucumber at the back, his walkabouts disorientated the Blackburn formation and had our midfielders been more awake then the disruption could and should have led to more.
Carra - 7 - getting back to the Carra we know and love.
Johnson - 8 - superb defending on more than one occasion but he really made a difference when into Blackburn's final 1/3. Had we had an attack worthy of the name then he would have at least one more assist to his name.
Masher - 7 - he is now back to the consistency we took for granted last season.
Lucas - 5 - for his defensive work, there are signs (his through ball to SG, and his 3 forays into the box) that he is trying to up that aspect of his game - too late by far I fear.
Kuyt - 4.5 - really contributed very little of note to this game and maybe should be lower than a 4.5
Yossi - 5- looked short of match fitness and in a game he should have run amok he was a peripheral figure.
Gerrard - 8 - one or two iffy moments aside he ran this game, almost by himself at times. He was everywhere and never stopped trying, obvious signs he is getting back to full fitness.
N'Gog - 4 - he had a couple of gilt edged chances and even allowing for the bobbles, after repeated viewing of the replays, he should have done better. That aside he offers nothing, drops far too deep far too often, runs into blind alleys where he has no idea what he's going to do and his passing is at times just awful. End of last season, beginning of this, I thought he may develop into something. But either the pressure is too much for him, or the opportunity has come too early because he doesn't look like a premiership striker fit for Hull never mind Liverpool.
Riera - 5 - looked way short of fitness / form.
El Zhar - 6 - one or two bright early moments soon gave way to poor crossing and passing.
Rafa - 6 - good team sheet to start but because of the lack of fitness and form of some players he really really really really should have given Aquilani a good 20 minutes.
TBH I am still shocked we didn't win, even considering the poor form of a few players - we should have and I thought it was just a matter of time.
