Just seen that the lesser Neville is to leave the bitters at the end of the season. Nothing remarkable about that. But... on the Bbc website I noticed he has won six league championship medals. We live in a world where Phil Neville has SIX championship medals and Steven Gerrard has none.
I blame Thatcher.
 
To be fair he is a great example of the type of player a team often needs. Nobody has a team of messi and Ronaldos.
 
It isn't just him. You could fill a whole squad with average players who have champions' medals because they played for that club, with its winning habit. We had our share of such players in the glory days too. Hopefully we will again in time.

Not a popular choice for obvious reasons but would take him on a free.

Defensive midfielder who gives some experience.
 
hmmmm can't see what he would offer us. Besides being an average footballer, I can't imagine him inspiring the masses.
