Does this kid have a chance to be a solid squad player like Flanno in time?

He doesn't look great on the ball, but he distributes it ok nonetheless, makes good runs and seems like a solid defender.

Pretty much as you've stated.

He will have to improve on his technical skills and passing in tight situations. Seemed to time his runs well but he's no speedster. I thought he played well yesterday but he'd have to make a big leap to become a 1st team regular. However he's still young and it's good to know we have more strength in depth we can rely on if called for.

He's someone who could progress under Klopp's guidance as a handy utility player. He's tough, with a really good attitude, and his technique is much better than you saw yesterday, where the occasion and the increased pace of the first team combined to make him a bit nervy. If the squad is to evolve away from the rather timid and languid bunch that we've had in the past few years into a much stronger, more industrious and positive unit, I think he has what is needed to be part of that process.

Looked quite promising once he got used to the tempo and got over the initial nerves.

I thought he did quite well but needs some longer studs in his boots. Slipping over in the box with the ball at the strikers feet is to be avoided. I noticed he got the Klopp hug at the end so I bet he's made up.

Flanno's proof in not writing off young players too soon.

Randall looked nervy in first half but came into the game in the second and got forward too.

Agree. I wrote in the match thread that I thought he looked out of his depth in the first half. But he stuck at it and played very well in the second.

Pitch perfect interview from Connor Randall here, having made an encouraging first senior appearance in a Liverpool shirt.
The young Scouser, 20, was an assured presence at right back, and spoke to our man James Pearce after his debut.
“That was a dream come true for me tonight. To get the opportunity to play at Anfield in front of a packed crowd like that is something I’ve wanted ever since I was a little kid.
“That’s what I’ve been working towards ever since I started off at the Academy when I was six.
“Ever since that first day the ultimate goal has been to play for the first team. I’m very pleased and grateful to get that opportunity tonight.
“Now I’ve got that first game under my belt it’s about working hard, pushing on and trying to play again.”

I only saw the first half, but he got sent to buy a hot dog a few times.

I thought he looked really ordinary with no standout ability but I trust the view of someone who has seen him a lot more than me.

It would be nice to think we can produce players who can at least become decent squad members or backup to 1st teamers. Also players tend to show more loyalty to managers who give them their first chance so hopefully he'll continue to give everything for Klopp. Pleased for the lad and Brannigan showed some nice touches as well.
