I admire the way rafa give his first half players 15 minutes (regardless) to put their first half performance right but imho sometimes if the first half is an unquestionable FAIL why not make the changes at the start of the second haf?
Apart from istanbul has rafa ever made a half time change (which wasn't forced on him by injury)?
We didnt need to change. We needed to play better. As evidenced by the fact we shatted on them second half up untill the substitutions at which point we lost our way.
All the people complaining about the formation and the substitutions yesterday are just for some reason ignoring the fact that we lost because we played like utter cunts. If we had played the way we did from the 45th minute to the 70th for the whole game we would have won. Aurelio, Babel, Voronin etc aint got shit to do with it.

I agree to an extent, but it has to be said that we still didn't manage to score and in the 2nd half, Fiorentina decided to sit back more and play it safe.
Yeah but we shoulda. Lucas, Gerrard and Torres all really should have scored. In the first half i cant recall a half chance let alone a gilt edged one.
Anyway. Whats done is done. Chelsea next and we need to pull our fucking socks up a bit.

Kuyt had a good chance straight after the first goal. Set-up by "shit" Aurelio :🙂

If we lost our way after the substitutions, it can hardly be claimed that they ain't got sh!t to do with it.

Besides, we went out there with one or two wrong selections (we should not have given Aurelio only his second game ever as a CM in an away European tie) and IMO clearly not the best formation to get the best out of the players who did play (Stevie HAD to play CM with Deadly, Yossi and Uncle Albert or Babel ahead of him).  A pound to a penny says that had a lot to do with our confusion and sheer wetness in the first half.
