Rafa confirmed as new Chelsea boss

I just had a quick scan on RAWK to see how they're coping. There are plenty of hysterical posts but also some really balanced and thoughtful ones which would probably speak for most of us, such as this:

I love Rafa, but I hope to fck we smash Chelsea next time we play them.

I wept over the Rafa portrait I have next to my bed when I heard the news. After going for a long walk I realized that Rafa is just doing what is best for him and forgave him in my heart.

However, I will shed no more tears for Rafa Benitez, he is now the enemy in spite of any deep passion I may feel for him.

So how come one of the best managers evah was out of work for 2 years?

Was it because he turned his nose up at lots of jobs?

If he wanted to work he could have got a decent job easily. He didn't because he hoped we'd fuck up and hire him after roy....then after kenny. He couldn't move on because he'd turned into a twisted headcase. Hes jumped on this job now because its short term and he's trying to prove to people he can still do it. Why not just go for a job earlier and do the "wonders" that he apparantly did for us.

He took it now because Rodgers might go in the summer, or Jose will go in the summer. It's his last chance to impress, and he's picked a fucking easy team to do it in, whilst ignoring all the fans who loved him previous.

Rafa Benitez was appointed as the new manager at Stamford Bridge last last after Roberto Di Matteo was sacked, and it now appears the Spaniard has moved fast to bring in a new No 2.​

Zenden, now 36, was on the books at Chelsea between 2001 and 2004, and later played under Benitez at Liverpool. This would be his first coaching role.​

Zenden's father Pierre, who also acts as his agent told Voetbal International: "He was approached on Wednesday by Benitez and is now on a flight," he said.​

"Since yesterday, he phoned Benitez many times.​

"I assume that he will be on the pitch this afternoon, together with the manager.​

"I assume he will finish the season, just like Benitez."
