There is so much shit in the last few pages of this thread it is beginning to resemble a treatment plant

These are my strongest memories of Carra:

1. His debut goal. All well and good. I think he played in midfield.

2. Being moved to the left when Babbel joined and suddenly realising how a real fullback was supposed to perform.

3. Two own goals vs Man U.

4. Carragher stamps my brothers mate Jesper Blomqvist in the chest.

5. Carragher vs Henry

6. Carraghers heroic performance against Milan in 2005.

7. His own goal against West Ham in the final.

8. Constant hoofing and back passes

9. Lack of goals.

There it is. I know this might rile you up but I'm being honest here.

I never really took to Carra. Ever. I've always thought that he was player with limited talent who was playing due to sheer willpower and work rate.
That's why I compared him with Hyypia, a talented player who didn't have to work his socks off to stop an attacker. Positioned himself well and was just elegant in the way he defended.

Regarding his late appearances this season, I'd rather we brought on a youth player.

Will I miss him? No, not really. I can never imagine myself thinking..."ahh remember the days when we had Carra in defence".

Ah do shut up. Never brilliant, but still a club legend... And even if he didn't live up to Your expectations and Get a hand of applause from you, he certainly didn't deserve this shit either... By the way Blomqwist got what he deserved!!

So did Håland...😉

I presume Modo doesn't dream of a team of Carraghers then....

I'm sure Carra will be gutted to know that some interweb head case never really took to him. He'll be rattling round his mansion in absolute dismay I'm sure

Sitting infront of his fireplace with a whiskey in his hand watching his medals and thropies from a long life in professional football, playing for Liverpool FC. Loved and respected by thousands for his work on and off the pitch.

Yeah, I bet he's gutted about not cutting it after Modos standards.

Great win. Worst possibly injury after Suarez or gj. We will miss Enrique. Carra is a legend of the club but sentiment has no place in football and youth should be getting the playing time in spots like that. 2 more wins before utd please

No, sorry, you are not being being honest Modo, you are being ridiculously selective and unnecessarily disrespectful to a great servant who has been a pillar of our defence for over a decade.
You really are a Jekyll and Hyde character that has significant periods of relative sanity, interspersed with equal periods of semi delirious spoutings and faux controversial views.
Carragher has had his shortcomings over the years and is three seasons past his sell by date, if he was more cultured on and with the ball he would have been another fucking Maldini.

Last time I looked Pat our youth was getting plenty of playing time due to a lack of overall quality. Maybe bringing Shelvey on was an option but maybe management thought that giving him a break was the right thing to do given the recent slaughtering he received from his own supposed fans after Stoke. The one that led him to delete his Twitter account. There's a thing though a footballer player with some sense because Twitter is pointless. Fans these days seem to need something to blame though and players are easy targets.

Come on lads, it's Modo, is it really worth trying to reason with the cunt? There seems to be a complete lack of perspective with some posters who seem to let their patriotism cloud their judgement over certain players, as pointed out, I think we just unearthed the root of Modo's hatred.

What a sad character he is, I will always look back fondly at our Brendan's signature, because he was fucking bang on. It must really gall Modo that Gerrard is English.

Agreed but unless we are protecting a slender lead in the last few minutes/resting a CB or have an injury to a CB I don't see the point in bringing Carragher on. Nothing to do with a lack of respect (the man is a legend) I just think that playing time should go to the fringe players with a future.

Game set and match..... How the fuck someone can defend that shithouse cunt and then go on to crticise someone who put his body on the line during the champs leaugue final or walked of the pitch with a broken leg is beyond me.

This is the same poster who was banging on about us signing that blert that failed at Spurs and then failed at Ipswich, because he can do a few flicks for his National team.

At least we can say Kris knows his shit and aside from anything touching the fringes of Danish football, is reasonably sane and a nice knowledgeable lad, that's why I can just about put up with the constant bigging up of Agger's technical ability, but Modo is just a loathsome fuck with it. Aquilani, Dos Santos so technically gifted and greatly misunderstood...but no, Carragher's remembered best for standing on some shit Swedish player 10 years ago.

Redknapp also hailed the performance of Liverpool forward Luis Suarez, who took his Premier League goal tally for the season to 13 by netting twice.

"I think I've seen [Suarez] do that to everyone he's played against this year," he added.

"It's not something he's just suddenly done today, is it? It's what he is. He's the most fantastic striker. He's one of the best, in the half a dozen in the world, without a doubt.

Clutching his CL medal all the time.

From 05-09 he was as good as anyone in the game and is easily one of the more likeable players we've had for years.
I actually agree from 05-09 he was really good. Doesn't make him a legend though, imo.

I bet none of the players at LFC are bothered if anyone of us likes them or not.
So, it's kind of a stupid thing to say.

Simple, talent.
