Who were the LFC players you thought could create from no where moments of utter magic? For me Barnes, Beardsley, Fowler Gerrard, Suarez, Alonso and Molby.
Who were the players for you?

Suarez. No one else comes even close. Probably the best player ever in the league doing that. Created magic in game after game. Every game he created his magic stuff. We the fans got used to it. We knew that we again would see more magic from Suarez.

Some players delivers it from time to time but Suarez is the only one that done it in every game. You shouldn't be able to do that. It should be impossible to deliever in every game but Suarez showed that it is not impossible.

They're all young boys here... ;-)

Don't say that ... or he'll be taking off more clothes ...

Yes, Dalglish most of all. Followed by Gerrard, Barnes, Suarez, Beardsley, Fowler, Keegan, McDermott, and loads more.

Gerrard wasn't so much "magic" as a one-man pyrotechnics display. I did quite enjoy watching Alan Hansen mug off defenders. Not many players can make a crowd laugh, which I'm pretty sure happened on occasion with Jocky, as he shimmied and strolled past some busybody striker trying to close him down. Silly fellow.

Titi Camara and Milan Baros. You never thought they had it in them until they spring up with the odd goal out of nothing.

All the obvious names have been mentioned.

I'll go for Riise. He was a wasteful shooter but every now and again we got a worldy out of the blue. A couple great ones running the length of the pitch to score as well.

The King had the skill and the vision to create openings not only for himself but also for others with those little bits of magic. Suarez is the most outrageously gifted individual I've seen in a Liverpool shirt, and worked his nuts off for the team alongside that, but the King brought the two together.

Luis Suarez was always the player I had the most faith in creating 'magic', by just doing something so jaw-droppingly good nobody else would even think of it, let alone attempt it.

The same applies to Gerrard, although it was slightly different. I had faith in him getting any sort of goal. Header, toe-poke, worldy 35 yard screamer when we really needed it.

Garcia is in the same vein as Luis Suarez, although to a much lesser extent.

Someone who hasn't been mentioned is Peter Crouch. He scored some weirdly mental goals during his time here.

I just watched a couple of compilations. Made me sad.

I don't think I like many players who play for us now. Coutinho and that's about it.

My top three players when it comes to flair and technique:

  1. Barnes
  2. Suarez
  3. Coutinho

Mcmanaman has to be in this category as well. Took the piss out of defenders and that amazing goal at Celtic Park when he ran 70 yards and went past half their team to score

McManaman is a bit like Torres in that his obvious brilliance is now underplayed to a large extent because he left under a cloud.

Sipping my Sanatogen Tonic Wine, I recall Peter Thompson whose magic down the wing got the adrenalin flowing. In the 1990's the most exciting player for me was Patrik Berger.

See also:

Owen, Michael.
Mascherano, Javier.

Funny that Suarez is exempt though, just shows what influence outrageous talent has.

True as far as it goes, but there's more to it than that. He, Masher and Owen at least gave full value as long as they did wear the shirt.

McManaman was very destructive in his early seasons as an out-and-out winger. Later in his Liverpool career it seemed to me that he adopted more of a playmaker sort of role, in which he was mediocre. To me it was no big deal when he left.
