Fixtures now up for Division’s one and two, so can the following please make their way to the prediction league to begin the season.

Also this season a change in the rules.

Im sick of people not predicting. I accept that people cant get on as you may have other priorities, but to not predict for weeks on end really fucks me off cos I put a lot of effort into this, as does Mr V.

Anyway, to make it fair this year…..

There will be a new predictor. I work with Mr Albert. I’m going to ask his predictions for each round of fixtures and anyone who doesn’t predict will be given Mr Alberts predictions for that round of fixtures. Please bear in mind that Mr Albert is 65 and going a bit senile. But anyway, I’ll get his predictions and post them up, just before the weekend (or weeks) fixtures.

This will stop people moaning about other players getting an automatic 3 points when their opposition doesn’t predict.

However, I will be keeping to a strict rule, 3 strikes and your out. If you don’t predict 3 sets on fixtures on the bounce, you are a goner.

Anyone have any issues, please let me know.
 
Could someone give a quick explanation of how prediction league works and how predictions are submitted so i dont make a balls of it. Cheer.

You just predict what you think the score in each game will be.

eg

Liverpool vs Spurs 2-1
Arsenal vs Whoever 3-2

You get 1 point for each result you get right and get 3 points for a perfect score.

You go up against a different poster each round (play each one twice) and say you get 11 points for a round, and he gets 10 then you get 3 points for the round which goes on a premierleague style table.

Your first reserve kid. I told ya, you joined too late. If no-one predicts in the first week, they are binned and you are in, so predict anyway just in case.

I'd give 2 points for a correct prediction and 1 bonus point if you get the score right as that is far more of a lottery.

Sod Mr Albert's predictions. If you don't post why should you have a chance of winning the 3 points against someone who bothered to log on and post ?! I would be more pissed off being beaten by someone who couldn't be arsed to log-on and who failed to post his own predictions, than of someone else getting 3 points for a no show by his opponent.

Im getting grief cos people dont predict and their opponent gets an automatic 3 points, and im getting grief if people dont predict and gives their opponent a game by using Mr Alberts predictions.

Can someone give me a better idea then please??

Stick with yer mans predictions. The punishment being that 3 and your out rule. X

I really cant think of a completely fair system, so im gonna give this one a whirl as last year there was too much moaning.

If you fail to post-
A.You get the predictions from 'mad dude'.
B.You also lose a point off your total regardless of if you win or lose.
That way if you win you only get 2 points and if you lose you get -1 point?
 
I think it's tough for you as there isn't a system invented that will keep everyone happy but being in with a chance of getting 3 points even if you make no predictions at all is IMHO not fair in any shape or form.

In the EPL if a team is a no-show it is an automatic 3-0 defeat. I think the system you ran last year was clear enough. Just make a stickie with the rules and refer any bollock brain who complains to it !

An alternaative would be to use Mr. Albert's predictions but if the no-show wins / draws he still doesn't get any points. That way at least there will be something that the player, who bothered to post his predictions, will have to beat to get his points.

It could be tricky to put up in the table unless both players were given it as a loss.
