Prediction for this season 2011/2012

OK kids, i'm back and lets have a talk. If you are not interested, please get back to your room and play etch-a-sketches. I hope i make myself clear.

So lets get to serious talk here. What's your prediction for this season? Mines would be:


1. We will finish 4th place.

2. Carroll will be a total failure.

3. Suarez will be our main man this season.

4. Dirk will score 15 goals at least in all competition.

5. Gerrard will get himself injured again early this season and will be back a couple of months before season ends.

6. Charlie Adam will score at least 3 goals this season

7. Downing will score 2 goals and end the season being an average player as he always is.

8. N'Gog will outscore Carroll.

9. Lucas will get at least one red card this season

10. We will qualify to semis in FA Cup.


That is all for now. If you want to debate on all the 10 points i have above, please do it in another thread. Thank you.

Still trying to convince us with the fake, I'm from the Far East posting style I see.

Its about as fashionable as Farah trousers and Kicker boots, but do carry on.

Ok Glocky

Carroll to score 12+ and still split opinions, a few injuries and the odd goofball moment to add to the derision.

Downing to score 8 and set up as more, gives us width and is an ever present for the season proving a shrewd, if unspectacular buy.

Liverpool to finish 3rd.

We go for the cups but a couple of harsh draws against the big teams put us to the test, one final.

Kuyt to score 12 and have the usual season which finishes with the usual posters telling us he "won't play as much next season"

Lucas to play less but continue to prove his worth when needed, particularly in the big games.

Adam to prove a bit of a steal in midfield, freekick delivery a really asset and his ability to spread the play is something we've missed since Xabi.

A few hiccups still at the back with injury and a lack of balance hampering us in a few games, luckily we can score more than the opposition!

N'Gog to stay and bag a few goals again.

Suarez to have second season syndrome, a cross between defenders doubling up on him and him being lethargic after Copa.

Agree re Gerrard.

We won't win the fair play award - plenty of cards on the horizon.

At least Glock's posts can be trolled in a hilarious, entertaining manner, and thus provide some value to the forum. I am still having the hardest time trying to disprove Modo's signature.
 
Carroll will be top 3 league scorers

Henderson will force his way into the team

Downing will get double figures will assists

We won't win an cups

We'll challenge for a CL

Aquilini (if he stays) will force his way into the team

My predictions are horrible so expect none of the above to happen

I like him and definitely think he's got a part to play, preferably as a striker option, but suspect he might fall a little short of that goal total in the end, not least because we're going to have a reasonably large squad and it's going to be fully used.

5. Gerrard will get himself injured again early this season and will be back a couple of months before season ends. Who knows? He himself is bullish about his fitness though, so I'm hopeful.

6. Charlie Adam will score at least 3 goals this season Agreed.

7. Downing will score 2 goals and end the season being an average player as he always is. He's better than that. I doubt he'll get many, but I reckon it'll be more than 2.

8. N'Gog will outscore Carroll. If he stays, that's actually possible. He won't be expected to start regularly but will mainly be coming on against tired defences, and he does know the way to goal.

9. Lucas will get at least one red card this season Again, possible. May depend on how many games he plays.

10. We will qualify to semis in FA Cup. Either that or the Final itself. It's a competition in which I think we'll do well this coming season.

I'll play this game...

1. Suarez to rain goals for LFC this season.
2. Caroll to cement his place in the England starting line-up.
3. We will finish 3rd.
4. Steward Downing will be effective at best.
5. Henderson will flop (based on nothing)
6. Adamso will do quite well in the midfield and be deployed in exactly the same way Alonso played for us. As a playmaker who plays deep like a defensive midfielder.
7. Lucas will not start more than 30 games in all competition. I was going to state 25 but I think we will do quite well in the cups.
8. StevieG will be lording it for one last season. He will be a bit subdued during the early season when we have those silly internationals to contend with, but will come into his own when the serious stuff begins.
9. N'gog if he is here, will prove he is not as useless as we all thought.
10. Atleast one youngster apart from Kelly to really cement his place in the side.

We'll be in the top 4, i'm sure of it!! Our points total after Kenny came back last year in the league was better than everyone else bar Chelsea. We have undoubtedly strengthened the squad since and Gerrard will be back fully fit. Competition will be fierce for places so I'm not gonna predict who's gonna do what just that as a team we will be vastly improved. United have been weakened by Van Der Saar retiring, he was a major part of their backline and De Gea really has to hit the ground running, plus im not convinced ashley young is better than anything they already have whereas downing is for us. Citeh will be weakened when Tevez goes and Arsenal if Cesc and Nasri go. Spurs are screwed if modric leaves. And although some of the players mentioned may well transfer between the clubs mentioned, settling in at a new club may not happen as quick as one hopes (see chelseas record signing for proof) They'll all surely pick up players to replace their losses thats a given, but im not feeling all this pessimism with regards to what we'll do next season. I will approach august with more optimism than I did this time last year........thank fuck!!! 8)

I wouldn't go that far (they were improving as last season went on) but he will have to have them right up there challenging all season if he wants to stay.

Agreed, far too many people writing him off, there's no way he'll play as restricted a brand of football now. He had a target of CL place & went one better with a cup too, he'll get them challenging for the league IMO.
