Fuck it.... I'm going to this tomorrow night. May as well pretend it's worth talking about.

Besides the obvious money-spinning, is there a reason on Sydney FC's side that we're playing them as part of the 125 anniversary celebrations? For example, we're playing Hertha Berlin in end July as joint celebrations for both clubs (they're 125 years old too).

Wouldn't have thought there's a particular reason other than Liverpool haven't played in Sydney on any of their recent trips over here.

Klopp moans about fixture congestion and exhaustion in january and then the day after the end of the season the squad to the other side of the world? Its packed with youth i guess but then why even bother to take the vast majority of the first team.

Surely the former players, youth team and lucas and a few other shithouses would sell out Sydney?

Ah come on, they'll get a decent break soon, and I think it's good that fans from other countries get to see the players they love. And Lucas.

It's a shame they couldn't turn it into some kind of party atmosphere with young men going away together with old mates, for a laugh and enjoying what they love to do.

I don't think a business/first class trip to go on the piss and play a friendly is going to be extremely exhausting. If they're to travel that far it's better do it now than as part of pre-season.
 
If nothing else, I'm looking forward to watching Trent, Woodburn, Brewster and Wilson play. Always nice to watch the young ones play with the first team, even if it's just a meaningless friendly.
 
Wow, this is the first time Gerrard is playing under Klopp's management. I think he will try to impress him and maybe cheekily ask for a playing contract 🙂
 
Looking forward to this, the past 3 games Liverpool have played in Australia have all had cracking pre-match renditions of YNWA.

This Gerrard kid needs to get some range on his passing or he'll never get regular games for us.
