Let's get a list going of possible targets for us in the summer, assuming we'd be spending no more than 12-15m on any one player. You can obviously include players who've impressed in South Africa, but be realistic about their subsequent inflated value this summer.

I'll start.

Elia (12m?)
Cambiasso (?)
De Jong (15m?)
Landon Donovan (10m?)
Clint Dempsey (10m?)
Perreira (Uruguay left-back) 8m?

I wouldn't be happy with any of those players at those prices to be honest.

Kjær ~ £10M (Only player I know the prize of should we be interested due to his clause).

We really should go all in for a player like Alexis Sanches. Exactly what we need - a player with pace, determination, skill, power, goals and aggression. Really impressed with him so far.

Özil is another obvious candidate but the hunt for his signature will probably be even more severe.

And we need a LB. Taiwo, Coentrao (probably not going to happen if Real is indeed in for him) and perhaps that Boateng bloke from Germany could be candidates?

Otherwise the Argentinian LB against Greece impressed. (It wasn't Insua btw).

Boateng is a City player

Oh a real bargain could be FC Copenhagens Swedish LB Oscar Wendt.

He's got the potential to be a real good player. Pacy, skillfull with a great range of passing. I like him a lot as a player.

And he would cost more than £3M I reckon. Maybe Roy's even well aware of him because of his Swedish/Danish link.

He did after all take the chance on Brede Hangeland and that paid off quite well.

Cheers mate, my bad. He looks a good player doesn't he.

Dammit.

Landon Donovan (10m?)
Clint Dempsey (10m?)

They're worth about £1m each.

I disagree. With a good world cup behind them and both having done well in the premiership, they'll not come cheap.

Perhaps. But that is what they're worth.

I'd say at this stage it's more likely that we'll be spending 12-15m tops on all new players combined rather than on one new signing.

Clemente Rodríguez (£5m ish) from Estudiantes might not be a bad shout.

I'd love Alexis Sánchez (£??) from Udinese as well.

Hopefully, Woy can plunder the markets he knows well for some top players.

Hopefully, he'll have at least some money to spend

On Bobby Zamora and Clint Dempsey

sign Coentrao (the portugal lb) - we've stabilized our back four then and whatever is left, just offer it to Ozil as a signing bonus for signing with us next year.

Really? Dempsey's been Fulham's standout midfielder for the last couple of years or so and has just had a good world cup. He's proven premiership quality and is arguably in his prime. Fulham would be loathe to let him go. I'd say he'd be nearer 10m than 1m.

Donovan is more tricky, but he looked a quality player for Everton last season and again this world cup. Maybe he'd be closer tp 5m.

considering we are broke.. a combination of these.

Diego Perez - Uruguay - Monaco
Clemente Rodriguez - Argentina -Estudiantes
Vassilis Torosidis - Greece - Olympiakos
Michael Bradley - USA -Borussia Moenchengladbach
Nadir Belhadj - Algeria - Portsmouth
Anthony Annan - Ghana -Rosenborg
Asamoah Gyan- Ghana -Rennes
Makoto Hasebe - Japan -VfL Wolfsburg
Saviola - Argentina - Benfica

They barely gave him a chance, anyway he's grown, size wise, a fair bit since he first came to England. He's still only 21. I've always liked him and was gutted when Barca moved him on. Would love to see us take a chance on him. Although, I won't hold my breath.

I can't believe players like Dempsey, KP Boateng and Belhadj are being named as possible signings. Ludicrous!

I thought Prince Boteng was looked pretty good. Might be a cheap option to replace Lucas.
