I remember the 90's - stuttering to keep up with Man United
I remember the 00's - we became a great cup team
I remember if we got Barca, Roma, Milan, Madrid - we went in thinking every game was 50-50.
We all remember Roy
I remember Paul Konchesky and Joe Cole
We remember Hicks and Gillette
I remember Christian Purslow and Martin whatshisname. October 2010.
We remember when Kenny left - worrapity
i remember Brendan's record in Europe.
I remember signing great players like :"Benteke"
I remember thinking big players might not come here
I remember being disappointed that Masher, Torres, Suarez and Raheem wanting better
I remember no youth coming through
I remember no European games.
I remember getting forth was BRILLIANT
I remember 5-1 to Fecking STOKE.

And now..
Winning every CL game
Great Owners (yes, they are)
Players dying to STAY
Being one of Europe's best
Expecting to win games
Total preparedness
Expecting signings to be great
Seeing youth players coming through
Lots of unity and a lack of politics
Total respect from our opponents.

Haven't felt like this in 30 years. Pinch me.

It was 6-1 to Stoke.

Someone had to...

It's incredible isn't it. I would like to think in 10 years we have even more success to look back on but for now it's also amazing just to appreciate the casual records which we are accumulating with this great side

Yes its great, but it was never that bad, in those 30 years we have been to quite a few finals and at least challenged for the title on a number of occasions. But yeah keep pinching yourself.

"Pinch Me" is we're able to a) get Klopp b) keep Klopp. Imagine how much we'd win if the Lizards loosened the purse strings?

You forgot to include, a captain in Hendo whom even other fans and those outside of football respect and admire in what he stands for 🙂

Nah mate, all of this has been a dream. In reality Roy Hodgson guided us to a respectable 6th place finish last year and retired to be replaced by Eddie Howe. Our owner, the honorable Mr. Hicks is promising a "spade in the ground" as early as sometime next year as long as stadium naming rights can be auctioned to the highest bidder (fans are hoping for something more neutral like Bitcoin rather than "Hello Kitty Arena" or "Trump Stadium"). Lucas is the club captain and our longest-serving player, Mignolet is the vice-captain. The summer addition of Andros Townsend on loan has the fans hoping that his crossing ability will help our top scorer Christian Benteke reverse his 7-season slump and finally break into double digits. In truth it has not been fun watching Mourinho win 3 Premier League titles in 4 seasons with Manchester United but all in all our fan base is doing OK. No need to thank me for pinching you and waking you up!

You expect signings?

Seriously though, do you remember the shit corner routines where they would take it short, pass it back to the taker who would be invariably caught offside – every single time? I think this was under Rafa mostly and used to drive me crazy. Also there were several periods under different managers where we tried, but couldn't play it out the back, the defenders always looked like they were going to give it away and in the end hoofed it anyway. Oh, and Mignolet's goal-kicks? *shudder*

And I forgot to mention Stewart "Woodwork" Downing and his amazing Bin Tricks. What a signing 1 goal in 2 seasons. Or was it 2 goals? FFS 🙂

Seriously, we're in heaven.

And the constant “turning a corner” except we hadn’t. Not counting the Iago Aspas corner

Niall mate, we owe Martin Whatsisname, the artist otherwise known as Martin Broughton, a sod of a lot (ditto RBS as it was they who put him in as interim chairman). It took someone with real strength and stature to get a grip on the club and what the Two Stooges were doing to it. He needed Purslow and Ayre to stand up and be counted with him, and thank God they did, but without him in post I truly shudder to think where we might have ended up. One Chelsea fan I have time for.

Totally agree 100% - I wasn’t maligning him just remembering him. A & P and himself probably gave us the biggest win of the last decade off the field

There was also the CFO (a guy called Philip Nash who joined us from Arsenal) who was involved with the whole thing too. He's usually overlooked because he didn't have a public profile like Ayre, Purslow and Broughton.
