I really wish Coutinho's ailment could have been damaging enough for us to have got a sense of whether it was impairing his ability to run. It would have been great to have got some insight into whether he'd suffered a leg injury or something. But alas the whole thing was so hard to read.

I would assume that Coutinho's English isn't perfect, and further assume that our medics had the bright idea of repeatedly saying the word dead? dead? dead!!? in some sort of Basil Fawlty like attempt to get him to diagnose his own injury. His body understandably went into shock, which is why he couldn't run it off, and he then hobbled over to Klopp to ask him to make sure his wife and kid knew that he loved them.
