- Currently with Valencia
- Man City also interested
- 15 yrs old, currently Spanish Under-17 international
- If he joins Liverpool, he will be placed in the U19 team directly
- Similar to Sergio Busquets

* Sorry its Pedro. I copied from translated article and it turned out into Peter 😳 . (Can any admin change it? Thanks!)

Saturday's lovely play by Pablo Maffeo and Steven Nicanor Prieto¡'s goal, Sunday's match had nothing to envy, where the Spain squad showed off their quaity.

One of the gems, was captain Pedro Chirivella's second goal, after a great play by David González.

Chirivella has already scored three goals in two matches, two of them as penalties in the Ciudad del Fútbol of Las Rozas.

They won the tournament.

From 101greatgoals:

Considered the most promising youngster in Valencia’s youth team, Vavel Espana suggest today that Liverpool have beaten serious competition from the likes of Manchester City to secure Chirivella’s signature.

Deluged with a number of offers, reports today suggest the deal is imminent and that Chirivella will be playing for Liverpool’s Under-19 side next season.
Chirivella has captained the Spain Under-16 side and regularly been compared to Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets but with better ability going forward.

He follows the likes of Suso and Daniel Ayala who left Spain at a young age to join Liverpool. But, Chirivella is considered to be a much bigger talent than many who have joined the Merseyside giants in recent seasons.

Valencia have been fending off bids for Chirivella for some time with Barcelona thought to be front runners so this would be some coup if Liverpool have signed a starlet considered to be Spain’s best talent since Cesc Fabregas.

If this is true - what on earth makes a Spanish kid sign for us over Barca? It's not like Barca don't give ample opportunities to their kids ... It can't also just be because of Istanbul. Whatever it is, I hope we've struck gold here

seems we beat off barcelona for every young lad we sign from Spain .

i doubt barca are too concerned , none have turned out to be top quality .

There's no way Barca would be offering this kid 300K per year.
It's a massive pay-packet (and gamble) for LFC to be spending that kind of money on a player they're intent on playing in the U19s.
No guarantees at that age.. They must think he's worth the risk.

He's only 17 and has zero senior appearances, so I doubt we're paying him 25K a month for 5 years.

Could it actually mean that we're paying the club 300K per season for the next 5 seasons, which means 1.5m in all for the player transfer? We've paid thereabouts for a few of our other youngsters in the Academy, so this seems to sound more reasonable.

300k € pr year is what 4k £ a week?
Thats very plausible imho.

Some of the Chelsea youngsters (Ruben Loftus-Cheek) are on 25-30k a week, yet only Ake played in a competitive game I think.

i'm guessing they are coming to Liverpool (and some of the other Premiership teams) for the money.

I'd probably take the long-term view and stay in Spain as the odds of me making it through are probably higher. Weird.

Hopefully we give this guy ample opportunities if he's good enough. You only have to look at the likes of Suso / Teixeira - if we sign Luis Alberto, where does that leave them?

It's a tough one. Even if you are a very good talent you are still odds on not to make it at the very top. It's tempting to take the money(fear of injury or other reasons ruining your career) when you can especially as many of these youngsters have a not so wealthy background. I think I'd most probably end up choosing the money. Maybe.

True. At twenty, with no guarantee of success and only ever really playing for reserves sides, I'd bite Liverpool's hands off if I was offered a guarantee of 300k per year for 5 years.

Slightly flippant, but if these new two are better, then who cares. Ship them out!

Well, I can definitely see that side of the argument but you have to balance it out with our investment in the academy, motivating those involved and our ensuring we still have the ability to attract good players at that level.

Yeah I know, was just being black and white about but your points are very valid.

Braulio: "Paco Alcácer is returning. We're thinking about Carles Gil. We're waiting for Pedro Chirivella to respond to our offer."
