Paul Scholes back at Manure

I'm enjoying this as I had a row with a fella about Carra going to the world cup while Scholes is a man of principle who sticks by his decisions.

Oh really?

I'm fucking surprised that Fergie's gone cap in hand.

TBH though I think he can only help them, so he's made the right decision.

I'm even more surprised Scholes has agreed, he's notorious for being single minded & stubborn.

BREAKING NEWS: Sir Bobby Charlton seen warming up at the etihad stadium

He's part of their reserves team coaching staff though so he wasn't entirely detached from the team. He doesn't look 37 to me. 😱

I Like Paul Scholes.

I also hope United win today.

(And then lose in the next round obv)

Cant have that. At all.

I cant even begin to loathe Citeh like I hate Utd.

well he was training at the club and coaching youth teams or something so guess not a complete shock . guess he won't be far off what he was last season ....average.

Anyway this and the Henry move have got me thinking , is there no really decent young talent out there ? Yes i know there are other reasons for these 2 individual moves but it seems to me that the big named players at the moment are the ones that been around for a while and have not been replaced by a similar standard .

Is this because there was a generation of great players and now the standard is a little down ?
Is it to do with finances ? Why are clubs looking at older players or players they never would have considered in the past ?
Or perhaps because all the decent talent is already with big clubs and there's not alot out there to buy .

Got 3-1 to united, tempted to trade out a tenner profit though.

Oncey just doesn't get Liverpool, does he. :-\

Arsed. I will always want whats best for us in any competition. I think United winning this is better for us.
I also think another defeat will do City the world of bad.

Robert Pires has followed Thierry Henry's lead by returning to train with Arsenal.

Henry marked his comeback after signing a two-month loan deal by scoring the winner against Leeds on a hugely emotional night at the Emirates on Monday.

And Pires, who is thought to be maintaining his fitness while he searches for a new club, is also training with Arsene Wenger's squad at London Colney.

"On my way to colney for training!!" tweeted the Frenchman, who scored 84 goals in 284 appearances for Arsenal.

And two of the club's more recent heroes, Jack Wilshere and Robin Van Persie, also tweeted their delight at the news - although it appears Pires is simply training with the club rather than looking to sign a deal at Arsenal.

Wilshere tweeted: "Super, super Robert Pires is training today........return of another king?!? How amazing would that be!"

And van Persie said: "Welcome back maestro!!"

Hoping to surf the wave of optimism kick started by Scholes at United and Henry at Arsenal, Chelsea also intend to play a former great at the weekend. Fernando Torres.
