How highly do people rate Park? He's phenomenal for them. He'll be one of the first names down on the team sheet for the CL final.

Is he our Kuyt, or is that doing a disservice to Dirk?

I don't ever want to pay homage to one of theirs but I wanted to judge how highly Park is received by rival fans.

He was excellent today, but he's not always at that level. The guy is one of quite a few good but not brilliant players whom Ferguson has moulded into a unit which gets the absolute best out of all of them.

I remember somebody on Koptalk called him Park Ji Shit because he thought he'd be rubbish and that it was just about 'the Asian market'.

Fuck the Mancs.

A very unpopular opinion I'm sure but I rate him above Dirk.
Really wanted him when he had a great run in the CL under Hidink and was dissapoonted when scum got him.
Very consistent performer, can be quite tricky, and pacey too.
Dirk has been unbelievable since Kenny took charge, but over the last five years, I think Park's outperformed him.

great player who rarely has off days

i hate the fact he's content to be a bench warmer

Great little player. Unpopular, but I rate him just above Kuyt. He performs in big games (like Dirk) but doesn't have the "fcuking shit" dips in form Dirk has had over the years where the ball is bouncing off him.

He's a very good player for the squad. He always gets picked for the big games because he works hard, knows the game, listens to instructions and of course has quality.

There is a bit of a comparison to Kuyt in the respect to the reasons he gets picked for big games, but unlike Kuyt he gets rotated in 'lesser' games.

YES! And the wages we pay Dirk and the wages they probably pay Park, mean they can have an equally talented bench warmer for half the price.
But putting that aside, the fact is Nani and Valencia play A LOT more against the lesser sides than Park.. and for good reason. They've got the PACE and SKILL to beat a man (we're sorely lacking this out wide) which goes a long way in this league against the lesser sides.

How do you know Park doesnt have the same wages as Dirk?
He's been at Utd for ages, and has played a lot of games for them. He's on massive wonga no doubt.

Yeah, I agree with this.

Park was good today but like JJ says he doesn't always hit those heights.
I'm more worried that they are going to do Barca now.

My neighbour is a United season ticket holder and she said about Park, he is 1 good game 5 bad. Consistency seems an issue for him apparently.

I banged on about him years ago, and was told by the majority of this forum (including Brendan in particular) that "he's shit".

I think they will.

Busquests will get glanced by rooney and roll over repeatedly until he takes out van der sars legs. Rooney will get sent off and they'll have to bring on their back up keeper who will have a howler

facts

I think he'd be more likely to suffer from noticeable fluctuations in form if he played on a regular basis. As it is, he doesn't feature very often.

He has played in every big game for them for as long as I can remember.

Always rated him.

I don't know about that. Park can be as important as Dirk at times but out performing him is a stretch in my opinion.

yeah hes decent but i cant imagine Barca will be soiling their shorts at the thought of him efficiently covering the flank, he puts in a good shift and knows whats required of him (much like Dirk) but hes hardly a world beater and he is helped by the fact he only seems to play once a fortnight so he never really gets tired

Fuck Park.

Fuck Man Utd.

x 2

His positioning is his bestest feature. The rest is just good. He's good. But not boss.

He has his moments but to rather have him that Kuyt is stretching it a bit. When Park can score double figures every year for 4/5 years and put in the shift that Dirk does for 50 games every season,, then I'll accept the comparison, which quite frankly its an insult to Dirk. But then again some posters wanted Dirk sold.
