Capped by France for only 1 game - a friendly. Overall, based on his CV he seems to me like a pretty good cover/competition for Enrique. He has more CL experience that any of our players, except Gerrard and Toure, and at his relatively young age (turning 26 in September), he presumably has his best years ahead of him. He is dependable and not injury-prone, quick and athletic. Apparently Valencia are selling many players in an effort to cut costs. According to the Mirror, the loan fee is around £850K with an option to buy for a further £3.5M next summer.
‘I will not believe that I am going anywhere until I am in Liverpool and having a medical. Liverpool is such a great club, so to be linked with them is fantastic. But there is nothing concrete from anyone at the moment. If there is an opportunity to join such a club, I will take it. Valencia are a great club, in a great city, but Liverpool are a legendary club.’

I'm totally fine with that signing if it's a loan for that amount. Johnson hasn't been playing the best but it still feels like a big loss whenever we have to shift him to the left if Enrique is out. Jose could do with some serious competition too this pre season if last year was anything to go by.

Can't see this being anything but a good move. He's good we buy him if he's not we ship him back and will give Enrique that kick to keep him motivated.

El VCF vol q l'opció de compra de Cissokho al Liverpool siga de 5 i no de 4 milions. La cessió pactada per 1 milió. Operació prop de fer-se.

"LFC agreed to pay €1m for the loan of Cissokho. Valencia want the option to buy to be €5m, LFC want it to be €4m. Deal close."

He was very good at Porto but has struggled at Valencia.
A loan is a good move so he can prove himself.

Hard to believe he's only 25, he's been around ages.

It doesn't look like he ever lived up to the hype

Yep, a bit like Coutinho in that regard, although older. He's a decent option for a left back, I think Enrique is a good enough starter for us, it's when he's out and Johnson has to move across that there's a problem, so this is a smart move.

I don't think it's anything like Coutinho.

Hopefully this gets wrapped up pretty quickly. In a world with a dearth of LB's, this seems like a very smart move.

I'm not comparing quality, but Coutinho had been hyped up for a very long time, and had stagnated a little at Inter, no where near to the same level though, it was only a slight comparison.

Is he any good?

Better than Enrique?

As for his age, maybe he's 30 like Falcao! Lol at that one if true!

We will be providing a great platform for the lad to ressurect his career. Let's see if he has enough fight in him to displace Enrique. Starting places are up for grabs and competition will bring out the best

Anyone remember the last highly rated but out of sorts left back we signed from Valencia? 😉

Crikey I just looked at my signup date, almost been 7 years.

Been lurking, maybe I should stop sitting on the fence!

His first touch in the few games I catched him play last Season looked horrendous. He is strong and attacking minded and perhaps a decent bet as back up but from latest form he is not as good an Enrique, whom I btw rate.
