We had 11 shots on target and 4 off target today. Sounds decent enough right ? Not at all. 11 of those shots were from 20 yards out or more (Gerrard 5-1 and Kuyt 4-0) and whenever we looked dangerous and the ball was delivered into the right area (around the penalty spot) we were either ahead of the ball or nowhere in sight.

Kuyt and N'Gog are just not good enough. I do not blame N'Gog too much for missing that opportunity - it did take a deflection - but whenever he gets the ball you just know that he is either going to lose possession or pass it away, add in the fact that the guy hardly ever manufactures a shot on goal never mind on target (well it IS difficult when you spend most of your time 30 to 40 yds out on the wing) and I fail to see the point of him. Kuyt was almost as bad today and has been off form for most of the season, and that is the best we can muster with Torres out. Neither are anywhere near good enough.

I know there were more than a few of us pulling what little hair we have left out when the transfer season ended and we hadn't covered this glaringly obvious weakness. Chickens always come home to roost.

It's not our only glaring weakness, though

Yes, Eggnog isn't very good, but we have similar problems in CM, with the ineffably dreadful Lucarse, issues at LB, because Insua is a useless fat flid, and even the usually reliable Kuyt, who *is* a good player, has no competition at RM

We're just not very good

Here is the problem:

Mascherano: no ability to regularly score or create goals

Lucas: no ability to regularly score or create goals

Kuyt: no ability to regularly score goals (most of his goals, like the one last week, come with him playing a STRIKER)

Albert "I'm not good enough for Citeh" Riera: no ability to regularly score goals

So yah, we have a problem

Sorry old chum, 90% of our problems are because when Torres was out we had to rely on N'gog, Voronin, Kuyt and fucking Babel..IS ANYONE SURPRISED WE ARE IN THE SHIT EXPECTING THAT PILE OF SHITE TO SCORE GOALS
end

add to that
players on long contracts who are shit .
scouts who must be sharing some cash with agents (who came up with shitanje,dossena,degen,lucas,paletta,gonzalez,20 others in our reserves i can name if anyone is interested)

What disapointed me the most today is how awful our passing is, .and how easily we lose the ball.

What have we been doing all week? Bburn played 120 mins on wednesday, but it looked the other way around.

We started like it was a pre season game.

What diaspointed me today was we missed a few good chances, had we not done that all the rest would not matter

regards

Our weakness going forward was shown up by the fact that a full back (Johnston) was our main attacking threat.

Teams like Blackburn with a couple of gorillas in the middle (Nelsen and Samba) just love you to play the ball in front of them, and that's what we kept doing all through the game.
