I didn't get a chance to watch much at all yesterday, but surprised there's no thread, I love this weekend, no gaps between matches, just frenetic match after match & having the radio on to keep up with it all.

Just watched Newport County beat Leeds 2-1 with a late header, great game & love it when the underdog wins (unless they're playing us obv).

Watching Shrewsbury v West Ham now which started exactly as the last match finished. West Ham have played Tuesday, Thursday & now today, so Shrewsbury may fancy their chances.

A blessed relief that yesterday's defeat got Mark Hughes the sack. He was a very good player, but I'm not even sure HE really knows why he manages. He seems the most joyless man in football - nothing appears to give him any pleasure whatsoever, his teams are always horrible to watch, and, unlike the likes of Pulis and Allardyce, he doesn't even seem to take any pride in his own style of play, no matter how perverse it might be. He should do himself a favour, as well as us, and do something else with his life - maybe go and live inside some Welsh cave far away from society.

West ham face a replay after struggling to get more than four shots on target in a poor game that Shrewsbury did well in.

Now forest have taken the lead against Arsenal after twenty minutes.

All the Premiership teams going out after replays would be boss.

Arsenal equalise. Just two minutes later.

Cracking cup tie this.

This is the first game I’ve watched on the tv this weekend and it’s a cracker.

Just brilliant. Perfectly chested down & then that looping volley weighted to perfection.

He'll never score a goal that good again. That's the one he's showing his grandkids every time they visit that one.

Absolutely.

As an aside, Brereton is running them ragged. He's only 18 and I'm sure this type of performance will attract attention from other clubs.

Wow, to misquote Wenger, I wish I'd seen it. Just turned on the radio - Arsenal lose. Tragic!

Lol. A 2 touch penalty to make it 4-2 followed by wellbeck fudging what should be an equalizer.

I can hardly contain my excitement for Whingers post match interview

Me neither. Wenger is bound to wail and moan about the penalties although I don't think there was any argument about either of them.

Both were nailed on penalties. The second shouldn’t have stood with the double touch from the taker. Brilliant.

They are in the Europa league and 6th in the league. Hardly in a sackable position

Wenger has never lost a 3rd round tie ... he can probably hold onto that record as he wasn't actually in charge today

Absolutely it is if you are arsenal and they didn't make the champions league last year for the first time in years.
It just increases the pressure to sack him

These things are always relative. Managers have been sacked in all kinds of decent league positions. He's been there for so long, and has slowly attracted so much flak, and last season was such a disappointment, financially, I doubt he's THAT secure.

Arsenal's Defending

They gave him a new contract despite being outside the top 4. They’re only 5 points from us and second favourites for the europa league. They are also in the league cup semi finals. I doubt the board have any thoughts of sacking him due to losing an FA Cup game today.
