regardless of ability, rationality or reason?

This player doesn't have to improve our squad or fill a need, you just want him to sign for some irrational or bizarre reason.

NB, of course for all the rational people out there, you can name one player who will improve the team.
 
Surely everyone would pick Messi then if rationality and realism aren't a factor. Imagine Little Lionel tearing it up from the right at Anfield!
 
then again, if we're going a bit nuts, I'd love that fucker who bit that player on the shoulder, and the fella who handballed it off the line for Uruguay at the World, oh...

I'd take Fabregas. We need a top class midfielder.

Messi would be amazing, but I love watching Barca too much to take him out of that side and Ino-one wants to see him reduced to trying to pick up knock downs from Carroll.
 
I really wanted Suarez in the summer so really glad we signed him.

There are loads, rational and irrational ones that I would love for us to sign, but if I had to say one, I'd say Sergio Aguero.
 
Hazard, because he's a little bit of quality and for a few predictable, but reasonably amusing, headlines.

Bastian Schweinsteiger. Thoought he was excellent in the world cup and has been for bayern for years. Would love to see him in our midfield.
