I haven't noticed this posted anywhere and just saw it on BBC:

[article=BBC News]Oldham fan stabbed after FA Cup match with Liverpool

Liverpool 2-0 Oldham Athletic

An Oldham Athletic fan was stabbed after watching his team play Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Merseyside Police said the 35-year-old man flagged down a passing ambulance in the Anfield area after a disturbance at about 17:00 GMT.

A spokesman said the fan, whose injuries were not life-threatening, is refusing to talk to detectives.

Police have appealed to other fans and passing motorists for information. Liverpool won the third round tie 2-0.

The "is refusing to talk to detectives" bit is suspicious and I guess would lead you to think that he was no exactly an innocent party in the incident. Its a shame to see as even if it is a Liverpool fan or not, or related to a football related argument, that will be the only way the press report it should it be picked up on.

Perhaps he doesn't want to talk if he provoked the guy by saying "Liverpool's gay", and is now legitimately worried that he'll end up with a lifetime ban from the FA's new equality commission. It's better just to shut up and wait a few weeks for the wound to heal before moving on.

Does anyone know why we bricked a couple of the Hull coaches on New Year's Day? A mate of mine who's a Hull fan is frothing about it.

Happened in Norris Green and was a load of young scallies that did it, not football related at all.
