Old decisions that still annoy you

As we're playing the bitters this weekend, and they still bang on about decisions from 30 or more years ago affecting them, it reminded me of a few Reds ones that than still rankle with me.
Main ones are Howard Gayle being scythed down in Munich in '81 and no pen. A more blatant pen you cannot see. Thankfully it didn't cost us the tie and we went on to win big ears. so no harm done. Always saddens me a little as Gayle would be remembered even more fondly if the pen had been given. and his performance deserved it.

2 mins in on this.

The other is the ref blowing and pulling us back to give a free kick when Beardsley went on to score against Wimbledon in '88. Wanker of a ref all game.

12 secs in on this. Fucking ridiculous.

There are many but Wenger being an arrogant stupid cunt and not buying players to reinforce his squad in January, when leading the PL, twice, and then succumbing to injuries that derailed their season and handed the PL title (both times) to United.

The great Alec Lindsay's disallowed goal in the 1974 cup final - one of the most boneheaded, biased, blind, dumb and outrageously unjust decisions in world football history, which I fervently believe left us with a curse on left backs which was only finally lifted with the arrival of Alec Lindsay II, Andy Robertson.

Plus Ian Callaghan's only booking in his entire career, against Forest, which was nothing at all.

Plus all of the above. Including the Spanish bird bit, but probably not the same one.

Alan Kennedy?

If it doesnt have to be a refereeing decision - Rafa giving Pellegrino his debut against United, it was a shit decision then and it still irritates me

Not being born a few years earlier so I could be part of the But-you've-never-seen-our-team-win-the-title generation to brag.

Somewhere there is a parallel universe where Lucas never played for us and a virtual Modo floats around in limbo for eternity...

In all seriousness though, hiring Hodgson is the worst decision, but the one that stung the most could well be beach ball. Or watching us play shit tactics when we lost to Chelsea a couple seasons back. There's loads of really Liverpooly things

Voronin and crouch starting on the wings against Reading(?) back in 2010(?)

In one universe a guy called Summeronions on the net isn't bothered enough to write about it.

Rafa taking off Gerrard for Lucas in the Goodison derby ... I mean, fucking hell, what was he thinking? See how that turned out ....

26.5.1989 Anfield.
Arsenal leading 1:0 at Anfield less than a minute before the end of added time.
John Barnes taking the ball towards goal rather than to the corner flag, losing the ball, and the rest is history. A sad one...
