Nuri Sahin

Unfortunately it looks like it hasn't worked for Sahin at Anfield.
Rodgers seems to have lost any hope of him turning into a valuable player for us. Hope we're not making a big mistake here.

It's very odd - I don't think he's got enough matches to get near his desired levels of performance. He's obviously a gifted player - but if Rodgers is happier with what we have currently, then return him to Madrid as it's pointless to waste money on his wages.

Dont think he's match fit at all after a year out with injuries.
If we want to sign someone else that will fit better than thats the right thing to do.

We havent seen the best of him and its a bit annoying reading remarks about how shite he is, cause he is a great footballer.
Shame he hasnt been able to show that here.

100% agree with this. I think he's our most technically gifted centre midfielder and would love to see a midfield 3 of lucas gerrard and sahin, we are yet to see the best of him.

If he's sent back then it's a shame, but if rodgers didn't feel he was giving enough then perhaps it's right.

I'm sure it won't be the last we see of him though. He'll be a star somewhere

I wonder whether this is really what it might seem at first, or actually a sacrifice we're having to make in order to free sufficient resources for a bid for Sneijder etc. The bit about Sahin having "been found wanting" may just be the hack's guess.

Judge, don't get excited for Sneijder.

I'm hoping to be surprised, but don't try and be rational about it!

Haha. I won't go overboard about it, Fabs, but i was encouraged by the response I got from my cousins. Usually they lose no time ribbing me about LFC, so the fact that they didn't do that in this case suggests to me that (in Italy at any rate) we're regarded as being well in the hunt.

But didn't Liverpool come out and say we weren't in for him yesterday?

Which means it was made up, because no "Kop sources" would give that dishrag anything.
Oh didn't know it came from there. Just heard someone mention it yesterday. But either way there's the small matter of sneijder's 200k a week wages. now seeing as how he wasn't willing to take a pay cut at inter, i can't see him doing that for us ;-).

Bottom line is he hasn't done enough when he's been on the pitch to warrant more game time.

We can make as much excuses as we like, but after 5 months he still looks unfit and not really up for it.

We got him in to run the midfield and he hasn't come close to doing that so we are better shipping him back to where he came from.

He's scored goals though. Generally he's yanked before the 90 as well. Hardly surprising he's not match fit.

1 league goal against an awful Norwich defence (at the time) and 2 in a the cup doesn't amount for much though considering what we expected.

On twatter now that we are trying to get Madrid to take him back and end loan early, therefore freeing up money for other targets. Maybe helped by Italian clubs interested in taking him on loan for second half of the season. Interesting, shame as he's obviously a talent. Never been able to replace Xabi. Wonder if Madrid will let us have Xabi and they can have Nuri back.

i'm probably wrong but i get the feeling that he doesn't even really want to be here . He just doesn't really look up for it .

Anyway to repeat myself and bore everyone , he's done exactly like a number of people who've seen him play alot told me he would . He's obviously technically good but doesn't really influence the game that much .

He played 4 games in 2011, he was going to need 4 months just to get into fitness again from the injuries.
If we keep him on, I think you'll see a much better player in the second half of the season.

That said, Real probably arent happy about the minimal amount of game time he's gotten either.

I don't think that can be the reason. His interviews when he arrived were pretty emphatic about how much he was looking forward to it.

I don't really know what the ins and outs are but he is one of the most talented players we have at the club right now and it'd be a shame if he came and went without us really knowing he was here.

That pretty much sums him up for me. Rodgers obviously feels he's not doing enough because even when he had him on the bench he wasn't bringing him on.
