C'mon, Jr.Windever, that's nothing.
NOTHING, I tell thee !
Hes scored 3 goals in 7 games.

He has hardly been great. As you well know stats don't always tell the true story. He's been anonymous when playing apart from one game. For the money it would cost plus his wages he's currently not worth it..Hes scored 3 goals in 7 games.
Hardly awful
Like i said he may (and i hope) come good in the second half of the season. But if he was to carry on with his current form as he is now can you really say he would be worth buying considering how high his wages will be and how much he will cost?Who *has* been great apart from Luis Suarez? Şahin's getting used to a new climate, club, country and style of football, and has shown enough classy touches to indicate he's worth persevering with a bit longer than a few months. Fetch someone else in and you'll just have to start the process all over again.
Difficult question.Şahin or Strootman?

Thats the thing though does he even want to stay? He's gone from being on the bench in sunny madrid, to being on the bench in liverpool. he's got no reason to want to stay at the moment. Plus he himself has admitted to struggling with the physical side of things here. Will he really want to get kicked about in english football?I totally accept that the price would have to be right, as far as both fee and wages are concerned. If Real refused to budge from their current valuation (assuming press reports of that are correct as given earlier in this thread) I'd walk away, as I would if Şahin's own demands were excessive. I don't expect those things to come about, because I suspect this may be one deal which all parties will want to make happen, but if they *do* come about then yes, we should look elsewhere.
But would you have this same opinion if you had never heard of Sahin? Or are you more willing to take this chance because of his past reputation?Well, there are no guarantees in football obviously, but he's got a sod of a lot more chance of breaking into the team here than he has at Real. I actually like the fact that he's admitted the difficulty he's having - it suggests he's got a clear and honest view of himself and what he can do. If he decides he doesn't want to stay, fine, we (and he) look elsewhere. But if he does want to stay, and the money side is sorted, I'd still go for it.
I think he has more class than Shelvey, enough to sign on a permanent for the right price (which is not as much as those chisellers at the Bernabeu want), but to me Shelvey on his best form looks more effective than Şahin on his at the moment.
He seems a bit lightweight to play in that position in the premiership. I like him technically and hope he toughens up. If he can he would become a valuable player. We haven't seen Şahin on his best form. And I don't suppose we will unless we give him a go in his best position.
I think he's being played further up because he is so lightweight. If he was stronger i think he would then be played in his favoured position. We would be too lightweight with a unfit lucas and sahin.Rodgers seems to be pretty adept at playing people out of position. Why the fuck anyone would play him higher up than Gerrard is beyond me.
Personally, id rather see us in a 4231, with Lucas and Şahin in the 2. Sterling/Allen/Gerrard/Downing/Suso in the 3. It suits everyone far better, is inherently more solid and we might just get the best out of players.
THe crazy thing about Şahin is that he obviously is a very talented player, but he just isn't being given time to adapt to the Premier League. We've seen it with so many players over the years, who have struggled for 6 months and then shone and we could potentially lose out on a top drawer player by failing to give him the chance to adapt.
Just put him in place of Gerrard and put Stevie higher up.
Even though im not a fan of hendo, with the way our midfield is playing at the moment he definitely deserves a chance. I'd drop allen as we need lucas to get match fit as quickly as possible. At least with hendo he has a great engine and wouldn't get bullied in a match.Lucas looks unfit and well short, so I don't know why people keep throwing him into their XI's, one of our major issues at the minute is that no one in midfield is harassing and pressing, the only player I've seen do that effectively over the last few months is Henderson. He deserves a shot and offers alot more than Allen and Lucas in terms of link up play.
I think that if you have a sig that contains a link to your own Twatter account makes you a lightweight in terms of society.

Shelvey hasn't really offered much of anything for awhile. I'd like to see lucas, hendo and gerrard as our midfield 3, or maybe gerrard pushed up into the front 3 with sterling and suarez.I forgot about Henderson but agree that he definitely deserves a go. There is also Shelvey too. If only we had such options in the final third.
Considering our big gap between our midfield and defence I'd like us to try:
--------Lucas--Şahin------
-------------Gerrard-------
If Şahin is fit, otherwise Henderson.
Only thing is that Lucas reads the game far better than Henderson and so can shield the back 4 more effectively.
If Henderson is playing anywhere it would be at the apex of the triangle where he can use that energy to get both forward and back effectively.
