Norwegian Lukaku

I bet they’re patting themselves on the back for beating everyone to his signature, yea congrats for throwing the most money at him

I don’t hate Haaland and of course this signing is a coup for City. Let’s hope Pep’s tactical instructions confuse him like they did with Grealish and Mahrez initially - and with his injury history any dependence on Haaland can be a double-edged sword.

Again, the problem I have with City are not their players - in fact I quite like many of them (David Silva, Aguero, De Bruyne, Yaya Toure, Kompany, Fernandinho etc). The problem is the unresolved question of financial doping and the frozen sham “investigation” by the Premier League. It would be actually better and healthier for Pep if he’s forced to try to recreate the same football on a much smaller budget - if he won under those conditions, then he would finally get the admiration and love he so craves.

Dont think he’ll be anything like Lukaku. The big question is how he’ll fit in with this City team. One of their strengths have been the false 9 with different floaty midfielders playing there. Now its Haaland.
Pep couldnt get Zlatan integrated in his Barca team, so will the same happen now?

His injury record this season is also a worry. Its difficult this as on one hand We as a nation need him to develop, but on the other as a Liverpool fan I want him to fail in every possible way.

So the merry-go-round begins.

All eyes on Mbappe next. If he stays at PSG, Madrid will go all guns blazing for Salah is my gut feel.

Fernandinho is a gigantic cunt

And having been at the club for 6 years now, yet with the exception of Foden, I can't recall who are the academy players he brought through —— given the time/opportunities he should have in terms of blooding in players

And, can we take a moment to appreciate what a manager we have (of course we already knew that)

[article]Asked about his rivals signing Haaland, Klopp said: "If Erling Haaland goes there, it will not weaken them - definitely not.

"I think it's been spoken about enough and at the moment it's a lot of talk about money but this transfer will set new levels, let me say it like that."

He added: "I signed a new contract knowing that City will not stop developing, so it's not about if City keep flying whether we can be happy or not. It's about us and what we can make of it.

"We have so many opportunities and so many different ways to win a football game, and we to find just one. That's possible, obviously, and we can do that."[/article]

Part me feels like they're football will suffer with haaland taking a place away from the slick passing machine , it'll obviously influence KDBs game as he's been boss breaking forward into the pitch where haaland will now be.

I wanna see Darwin Nunez in the prem , I think he will be boss at 95% of prem sides

I agree he’s going to unsettle them. Not just with him being completely different to what they have and implying the style of play, but the likes of De Bruyne will be majorly annoyed at his £700k a week.

I’d like to think Nunez will be boss for us.

I suppose our opportunity for the league next season will come in the early part of the year while they adjust.

Need to get a lead like we did in the season we won it and keep it going.

Or Robbo to kill him in the charity shield. Like Trent did to Sane a few seasons ago.

Not many people thought Lukaku would be anything like Lukaku though. It may be wishful thinking but I actually agree with the rest of what you say in that paragraph - the jury's still out on whether Haaland will be suited there.

So far Haaland has been at his absolute best playing on the break and counter attacking though, so it will be interesting to see how he adapts.
City play in a very different way.

Under normal circs I'd say he'd do great but he's constantly having muscle injuries and will have to work much harder both because it's this league and because it's city. Also, they already score loads of goals. He's a great player but I'm still not sure he'll make much of a difference to their points tally.

I think Kane would have suited their style of play much better so I'm glad they've gone for Haaland instead. I'm not convinced he will succeed in that system unless he has alot more subtlety to his game than he's shown so far.

If he's happy to not start every game and just be part of the rotation, then he will be an upgrade for them without causing unwanted issues
