Disregarding the Europa match, our next five matches in the league are:
Newcastle (Away)
Fulham (Home)
Blackpool (Away)
Wolverhampton (Home)
Bolton (Home)

Realistically, how many points would you be happy with in this period leading up to the new year?

I'm sure I'm not the only one calculating that, if we get 15 points from those games, and with United, Chelsea & Arsenal all playing each other this month, we could be about 4 or 5 points off top by the new year! Why do we do this to ourselves when deep down we know there's no chance we'll win all 5?

Gotta aim for the stars.

Were gonna fucking nail em and be top 3 by feb- with a banging goal difference.

Ryan babel is about to tear up the form book etc

We should win all five matches but realistically, considering our current form, team etc.

Newcastle (Away) L
Fulham (Home) W
Blackpool (Away) L
Wolverhampton (Home) W
Bolton (Home) W

9 P

i'd take 13, but if we want any chance of finishing top 4 then really we've got to win all of them. already 7 points behind, we've got serious ground to make up, no margin for error, etc.

15.

We are playing some ok football and are a lot better than earlier in the season under budgie face. I don't see any reason why we can't get all 15 points.

This. More likely 11 I say

We'll win them all.

And I haven't even looked at the fixtures.

I'm bold.

We'll win them though.

I'd be happy with 13 as it would mean we haven't lost and only slipped up in one of them which to be honest are teams a lot of our top 4 rivals are slipping up in.

I expect Newcastle to be the toughest one just because of the Andy Carrol factor (zorba needs to play this!) but the others *should* be victories.

I've just looked at the fixtures and apparently I was right.

We'll win them all.

(At least I believe we will IF we can beat Newcastle come Saturday).

5 league wins on a trot will be quite some record, is it? Especially given how fast these come come along, during the typically importantly festive period.

Would love for it to happen and maybe even make Terry eat his own words. Wake me up after 31st Dec. 😛

'I don't think any team can say they are playing well. The good thing is we're not like Liverpool. We're not out of it. We're still in with a very good chance and we certainly have the ability and the players to go to places like Tottenham or Arsenal and get great wins like we've done in previous years.'

I fucking hate these threads, I usually think ye maximum points. Then we end up nowhere near so on that thinking I reckon 7 points.

LOL. Optimism never dies on a Liverpool supporters' website!

I firmly believe we can win all five of those matches, but it's a big leap from there to talking about the title or even top four. Both are well out of reach IMO.

It died in me a long time ago

Have any of you people noticed that I can't even be arsed posting about LFC any more? That's how fucking bad it's got. There's nothing to say.

Next five games my arse. Didn't we have this thread just before we took a point off Wigan and Stoke?

Pretty much. Every time we think about kicking on we just end up disappointed again. It's not worth the bother.

Yeah, I much prefer this 'not getting hopes up', that means it's fucking boss when we win.

Fucking hell if we win our next 7 matches we should be top of the table. ;D
