I was just thinking before, that having more money than patience for geekery (which wouldn't be hard at all), that in general I wouldn't be averse to paying for films and tv shows as long as it was easy.
I think my biggest reservation with Netflix (and, as far as I know, its competitors), though, is that psychologically I don't like paying rent: I'd rather *own* a film, particularly because I tend to watch classics rather than the latest terrible 'new release'. So that got me thinking: how much is a standard film on DVD nowadays? Like £5 or something? Sometimes less? So wouldn't that imply that simple downloadable data could be sold profitably for perhaps £2 or £3? Or maybe even less?
Where are the sites selling such files? Or perhaps they exist and I've missed them?
