Just announced. Henrik Larsson favourite to replace him.

Neil Lennon is to part company with Celtic after four years as manager following talks about his future.

It is understood that the former club captain had been considering his position for some time despite securing a third straight Scottish title.

He has been concerned about his playing budget for next season.

The 42-year-old Northern Irishman took charge of the Glasgow club in 2010, leading them to three league titles and two Scottish Cups.

Lennon, who also previously led Celtic to Champions League last 16, is believed to have been concerned that his present side would not be able to negotiate three rounds of qualifying next season.

Lol, concerned about his transfer budget in a league that Celtic could win with blindfolds

Fair play to him, he must find it boring and he knows he's on a hiding to nothing. He's expected to win everything domestically and also progress in the CL with one of the worst funded squads in the competition. It will be actually interesting to see how he does outside the Old Firm bubble.

Moyes will be all over that, now he's a seasoned champions league professional.
Wonder if Lennon will be found out down here where there's more than 2 teams in how many divisions, or whether his time managing there has set him up nicely.

Maybe he's just going to bide his time and see what opens up in November / December when the struggling or under-performing Premier League clubs do their customary firing. For example, if Leicester struggles and fires Pearson, he might fancy going back to the club he spent a large part of his playing career at.

How long before Scottish football becomes alot like irish football (a non-entity) where locals will look to the English Premiership teams for aligence?

I can't see that happening, no matter how shit the teams become.

Can they get much worse?

That's true, they can't get much worse. I think that you could argue that the standard of the other teams might actually improve, if Celtic and Rangers were to fall off the face of the Earth.

Can't see spurs going for him, as much as I'd like them to.

Although, once they nick Southamptons manager, maybe he'd go there?

Don't be fooled by the volatile persona, Neil Lennon is a very intelligent man and a very good Manager in the making.

You clearly haven't spent much time in Scotland.
